“There's potential”
Reviewed 23 March 2012

My family recently stayed at the hotel for three nights to visit family in the area. There's potential with this hotel. Once the pool renovation is completed, it will be a more desirable place for our family. The lobby and sitting areas are spacious with a cozy electric fireplace. It's too bad that the coffee bar closes so early. We would have rather eaten there than at Bud's Grill in the casino. The fitness center is basic. Two treadmills (one in working condition), a stair-stepper, stationary bike, and a weight machine. The rooms are decent size. The TV was older than I expected, but that didn't matter. We had a refrigerator in our room, but only because I called prior to arriving and requested it. Not all rooms have refrigerators. None of them have microwaves. I was told there is one in the lobby for guest use, but I never saw it. The casino is under construction, so gaming and eating is very limited. They are putting in a new bakery/cafe. I heard they plan to re-open the Lone Wolf restaurant. I sure hope so! Since Bud's is the only non-buffet eatery, it's very busy. We had to wait over 1/2 an hour for a chicken sandwich and a philly cheesesteak. Definitely NOT worth the wait. Overall, the hotel is nice, the casino will be fun once it's complete (if that ever happens, as they're always renovating). But, next time we visit the area, we'll stay elsewhere.

Since the Rancheria is in the middle of a big constrution project, reviewing the casino at this point would be unfair. However, the Hotel is a different story. Bear in Mind I had a player's club comped free weekday night. We went on short notice, able to get a Sunday night room on our players club bulletin the same day. As I informed the reservation agent it was a quick overnight Anniversary trip (31st). Upon arrival, we were greeted at the front door by a hotel employee and directed where to put the F250 where it would be convenient. Check in was quick and friendly, and we were in our nicely appointed 2 queen bed room within 5 minutes. On the desk table in the room were two plastic champaign flutes, a bottle of sparkling cider, and a very nice personalized anniversary card from the staff and hotel. The room was clean, the bathroom stocked with necessities and all in all very enjoyable. Definitely would stay again, even if not comped.

HOTEL A+
Our recent stay at the Jackson Rancheria Hotel was superb. We were impressed with the overall condition of this hotel. The price of the room was reasonable, especially if you belong to the Players Club. The front lobby and hallways were exceptionally clean as well as our large room. The front desk staff was polite and accommodating.
We had a deluxe room with a king sized bed which was very comfortable. There is a large pool and 2 heated spas.
There is a small counter in the lobby where you can purchase some snacks, coffee and pastries but it's only open till 1 pm. The main eating room is in the casino.

CASINO C-
Our disappointment was in the casino. There is major construction of a new facility being done which in the future should produce a nice new casino. This construction has also caused some reduction in the size of the current casino and there is a major ventilation problem in the current slot machine area which can leave your eyes watering. The non smoking are is extremely small and crowded with limited machines. It is also hoped that the new casino will improve the over crowded parking that now exists as well.

We have eaten at the cafeteria style in the main dining room on the 2nd floor several times this year, but the menu never changes. Food is ok but it would be nice if they offered a bigger variety of main dishes.

The snack counter, Uncle Buds' area on the first floor offers a good Philly Cheese steak sandwich, hamburgers, personal pizza, hot dogs and fish and chips. Seating is limited though. There are no alcoholic beverages served in the casino. Soft drink beverage servers are plentiful and make the rounds quite often.

We are looking forward to see the newly constructed casino when it's done. But for now the current casino facility is not too impressive and it's overcrowded.

One complaint I have is that the casino keeps moving the existing slot machines around too much. Trying to find your favorites can be a daunting task. I do like the fact that they add new slot machines often and they do pay off better than the older ones. However, it seems like payoff's have slowed in the past months. Trying to find a casino machine attendant is also slow when there is a problem with a machine.

Over all, we liked the hotel, the stay was great. But the new casino needs to be completed ASAP. When the new construction is completed I think you'll have a much improved visit.

Room Tip: Join the players club for better rates.

We stayed in the Jackson Rancheria over Christmas 2011 whilst spending the days visiting family for the holiday period. The room was excellent, extremely large and well fitted out; the only downside being the bath/shower unit which appeared to have been teleported in from a two-star hotel! The facilities were of a good standard and the staff excellent; the whole package being very reasonably priced. We were disappointed there was no hotel bar and that this policy extended to the adjacent casino, but understood the reasons for this policy.
We visited the casino only once and were shocked at the number of people crammed inside. Neither of us are really the gambling type so we left without playing. From the hotel it was not evident that all those people were in the vicinty.

We recently went for a concert and stayed in the hotel. Big comfortable beds with flat screen tv and bathroom. Very very clean. I have stayed in a Suite before and it was great. I enjoyed this room and so did my parents. Love it love it love it! The hotel has a restaurant thats good. It's not exceptional but its tasty. Buffet is what they offer. But they also have food togo downstairs thats also good if you want something fast.

Room Tip: Not sure if all the rooms have balconies but we stayed in one with a balcony and it was good sized.
