“Craving for Filipino Food?”

Leelin Bakery & Cafe

Having been away from the country for several years, wherever Filipinos are they look around the neighborhood to find Filipino restaurants.

One of the biggest in this part of the country is Leelin Bakery and Cafe. It seemed that Sunday afternoons toward evening, Filipinos would flock to the place to enjoy delicious Filipino dishes.

Our group, being two families, wanted to have the specialties. We ordered several dishes including sinigang, dinuguan, longsilog, fried lumpia, kare-kare and lechon kawali among others.

The food was cooked as expected- the Filipino way. For me, the star dish of the evening was the lechong kawali (Deep Fried Pork) and Dinuguan.

The place is big enough to accommodate big groups as well as large families.

Great crispy pata and other Filipino dishes. We had them do full house catering and it was great. Also a favorite place for halo halo and baked goods. Can't go wrong!!

Last Saturday friends gather to celebrate two birthday for the month of August. Lunch is usually crowded but since we know the manager we were able to get a table for six quickly and reserved the table ahead of time. We ordered buko juice and iced tea with pearl. Our main course were pancit sotanghon guisado, Fresh lumpia, fried bangus, penakbet, chicken abodo and sisig na bangus. For desert was vanilla cake. It was so filling that we took the rest on to go box.

Went to keeling after it switched from goldilocks and was disappointed. Finally went back after a year and they have new menus. Had Lechon kawali and it was great. The new item was crispy palabok- they fry up the rice noodles so you have both wet and crispy noodles and all the toppings of meat and eggs on top. The liang was better than the last time I had it there. Of course the halo halo was the best- a dessert with bean and nuts with gelatin with a big scoop of ube (taro) ice cream, pudding and Rice Krispies on top with condense milk and crushed ice. If you haven't had one of these - really should try it.
They also have a bakery on the other half of the store. Get their Ensemada and heat it up 15 secs -it is to die for.
