Been coming here for fifty years and, though still a nice place with wonderful memories, it’s disappointing to see the beach degrading and the camp sites filling with generators.
It used to be quite a hike from the camp sites up the tall dunes and down the long beach to the water. Over the years, wind and waves have taken much sand, the dunes are all but gone in many places, a loss of wind buffer for the camp sites, and the beach is startlingly shallow, especially at high tide.
Maybe the shift was inevitable, but quiet tent camping used to dominate here, but now the sound of generators disrupts the peace.More
