We found this restaurant on the OpenTable on our short stay in small friendly town of Carpinteria. It has a central location, clean external and welcomeing manager at the front door. We were offered a choice of tables - in the bar area (if you like tv) and inside dining room with many historical photos on the walls. White table cloth, quite environment and friendly service gave us great dining experience. Though my husband was not very happy with his chicken main course, a bowl of clam chowder was very satisfying. They offered prefix menu for $35. Beet salad could be a bit bigger, but the size of the main plate was adequate. I ordered scallops from Appetizers and mushrooms as a side dish. Three scallops were fresh and juicy, in a very delicious butter; mushrooms were unforgettable, and a lot of them . I asked the server how they were cooked. They were baked! As for the dessert from the fixed menu, it was very delicate and skimpy , with too much orange coulis around, which made it soggy.

This restaurant sets the bar for others to live up to! We live about 2 hours away and made sure the first night of our trip was close by so could come again. It's expensive, but worth every penny! The staff is top notch, knowledgeable, and attentive. With the first bite of the freshly made bread which I am sure is their own recipe, you'll know you found the best restaurant in Southern California.

Driving up #1, we stopped in Carpinteria for lunch and a stroll. Besides we always love the relaxed atmosphere in this town, lunch at Sly's is a treat. Good food paired with good drinks, sitting at a table at the open front, overall quality Cali time.

Came here for lunch during the middle of the week. Service was pretty slow, seeing how the place wasn't full. Food was really great though.

A very nice restaurant/steakhouse in Carpinteria. The drinks were very good and we really enjoyed our steaks. We had the Prime Porterhouse, Peter Lugar style which were cooked perfectly and tasted great. I had the Lyonnaise potatoes which were excellent. The Halekulani coconut cake dessert was ridiculously good :)

The restaurant has a very comfortable, friendly ambiance which we really enjoyed. Yes, the steaks are pricy (like any good steakhouse); but, there is also a very varied menu with many, many reasonably priced entrees if you don't want a $50 steak.
