“Wine Walk Review”

I expected Carmel's Wine Walk self-guided tour of nine tasting rooms to have its own page, but I guess postings are on here. If you figure $10 a tasting normally, then $65 for nine is a $15 savings.

I've done the Wine Walk twice, once in May 2014 and then again in December 2016. You get 9 cards or vouchers for flights at tasting rooms scattered around downtown Carmel. The best part of these things is they never expire. So if I can find the unused cards from 2014, they're still good.

The only downside to the Wine Walk is that a lot of tasting rooms offer a smaller flight for those on the Walk than to the other guests. Normal flights seem to be $15 each, so they offset the Wine Walk flight accordingly.

There are more than 9 tasting rooms on the Walk, so be ready to come back, and some tasting rooms in Carmel don't participate, so always make sure to check before walking in.

Carmel is a cute town to walk around in, and what better way to do it with some wine! You get to choose 9 wineries to taste at, and all will let you ‘share’ a taste (which is what we did). 1 passport = 9 cards, and for $65 it is not a bad deal (especially after a tasting where you don’t buy anything). It was hit and miss, but there were a few wineries that really stood out (Scheid, Caraccioli and Dawn’s Dream). Being Carmel, it always adds to the total wine walking experience when a dog is licking your feet at a tasting…kinda sorta. However, all the people running the tasting rooms were very friendly and informative, and all the folk we met along the way were very nice. If you are just up for tasting at a few wineries, this may not be for you…however the passport cards you buy never expire (like a ‘forever wine stamp’), so if you know you will return or have some friends to pass them on to it is worth it. Overall, it is a good time!

Picked up a number of brochures on things to do in and around Carmel for our 5 days here. Fantastic help and glad we popped in

If you are unsure as to what to do in Carmel and the surrounding areas then this place is a must. The staff are knowledge and and just by telling them what sort of things you like they can direct you. Great friendly staff.
