If you are unsure as to what to do in Carmel and the surrounding areas then this place is a must. The staff are knowledge and and just by telling them what sort of things you like they can direct you. Great friendly staff.

I wanted to make sure I saw the fairytale Comstock houses & they had a brochure. I bought a book on them there also. Very friendly.

Staffed by lovely volunteers, knowledgeable, friendly and interested. I can not imagine the days when we had no visitor information center. We have a superb one now. just a little ways off the beaten path but worth the hunt!

Carmel By The Sea is physically a lovely place with lots of shopping and places to eat as well a beautiful vistas. However, parking is always a hassle and the street signs are all but obscure and impossible to read at night. They need to put up attractive, but utilitarian and thus easy to read street signs for night. Having small signposts with the lettering written vertically does NOT constitute easy to read for the visitor unfamiliar with the town. As a visitor for 3 days we were frustrated trying to read signs in the dark and around corners. You would provide the tourists, on whom most of your businesses depend, a huge service and command repeat visits.
