Clean, comfortable budget motel, a great choice for the money. This is an older motel with attractive outdoor areas. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The room was somewhat small and had a shower, no bathtub.

Stayed one night with boyfriend to attend an event at the pricier Cambria Pines Lodge. Had a great phone experience with the manager when I called to ask about an AAA discount. He said they didn't offer one but that he'd give me $5 off. I booked the least expensive room, a queen (non-garden view) for a very competitive price - for Cambria and a lot of other seaside towns on the Central Coast.
We checked in without issue and manager showed us a map of the property and of Cambria, highlighting some of the sites and giving a brief and helpful orientation of downtown. Very good customer service. Exterior is a charming retro roadside motel and it was decorated with festive holiday lights for the season. Water and sodas available for purchase in lobby for $1 or $2 (but they close around 10:00). Ice machine outside. No vending but it's a short distance to the downtown Cambria area. Not a late-night town so have your dinner plan figured out.
I had to ask for a fourth pillow and for help fixing my remote, which was delivered promptly.
Pros: affordable, great location, lovely natural surrounding, some pet friendly rooms for a reasonable fee, updated furnishings, good ceiling fan, fridge and coffee maker in room, comfy bed (mattress a bit on the soft side), good linens, good pillows, mostly clean.
Cons: floor a little dirty (didn't pass the white sock test), a little mildew in the shower and on the bathroom ceiling, some peeling paint in bathroom, found towels from former guest in bathroom hanging behind door, heating lamp didn't have a heating bulb in it and was cold in the morning, no A/C (but a good wall heater), housekeeping starts early and is loud (especially if windows are open), no vending, cold bathroom.
This is a boutique motel with a total of 18 rooms on the edge of town. It is walking distance to one side of town, which I believe is called the east village? The price is right for exploring town and coming back to sleep. It was a simple room and bathroom with simple amenities. The shower is very small and not ADA accommodating as there are no railings. The bathroom has no fan, but a window that opens to an apartment complex in the back, so let the shower fog or stinky out at your own risk of being seen by the neighbors. The room does not have a phone, but who needs one these days anyway. The walls are very thin and it seemed the noise from the room next door had an especially easy time traveling around the connecting door. Perhaps, some weather stripping would help This? Still, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. So, again budget friendly and clean.
Cambria Palms motel. Very clean and well taken care of rooms. Bed was outstanding. About a three block walk to downtown. Flat screen TV, refridge, coffee maker, all that and affordable. I really like the older style single story motel...I could park my car right outside my room....excellent experience.
Had a lovely one night stay at this Motel on our journey from LA to San Francisco. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. There is a wide range of shops and restaurants conveniently located just minutes from the Motel. Free Parking and Wi-Fi were also a bonus. Would definitely stay here again.
Really friendly hosts, great value clean motel close to all amenities. We really liked this place. Rooms well equipped although a hairdryer would have been a nice addition. Connecting rooms available for families if required
