It was fun to expierence a mud bath but it isn't quite what I expected. First the online pictures are a little deceptive. The reality of it is the real life expierence is more plain. The building seemed old and a little tired. On the plus side the staff was friendly and efficient. They walked you through the process and were very attentive. All in all not swanky but a fun expierence!

We visited this low-key, personable establishment with equally personable staff, shortly after the fires roared through the area. The purpose of the trip: take in Calistoga's legendary geothermal hot springs, relax, and verify that the place really still exists. It does, and Golden Haven is proof that "old" Calistoga can still be found by those wanting the sweet, personal spa experience. We spent the night in the Jacuzzi Room, which was very comfortable, and sports a stain-glass window up high. The room had a two-person jacuzzi that fills with the health-promoting mineral-rich water for which the area is famed. The room also had a shower. Staff offered bath salts, and Aveda (!) body products lined the sink. The mud bath was scrumptious, and we dozed off in the cool-down room afterwards. The motel-styled building afforded parking right outside our room: sweet. The two covered pools have accessible lifts, and were being maintained during our stay. So, we walked to a neighboring establishment's outdoor jacuzzi to top things off the following day. Awesome time! We'll go back ASAP!

This was our third time to Golden Haven, as they sometimes have good deals on Thanksgiving weekend. This time we just did the couples mud bath. It's a really nice experience. First, you and your significant other get into the hot mud bath, which is really thick mud and peat. Your attendant paints your face with another kind of mud and you just lie there enjoying yourself for 20 minutes or so. Then, after showering the mud off, you get into the jacuzzi and enjoy the hot water. Then, you go into a small room and cool down with soft music playing. A real treat! You can then enjoy the large swimming pool and two other jacuzzis. It's a lovely experience and I highly recommend it!

My husband and I enjoy coming for the mud baths. I like how the hot mud feels on my achy muscles, and I like how we are side by side, in a large room where we also shower/hose off and have a jacuzzi hot tub. There's a nice helper who comes and checks on you/covers you as needed with the mud. Then we went in to our massages and which were great! The overall experience is super relaxing, totally recommend.

I am so glad I read reviews before I went. This isn't the Four Seasons spa...but that doesn't make the experience any less enjoyable. Six ladies went for mud baths and massages. While the facilities are bare bone, the staff is just wonderful. Very kind, sweet, and attentive. The mud bath is QUITE the experience...we laughed and laughed...

Wanted to give a shout out to Julia, who went way above and beyond to help me get everyone in our party booked, and helped out with vineyards and other recommendations! This type of customer service is what most places are missing!
