Too many people dole out 5 stars for food that is good but not exceptional, IMO. This was truly outstanding.
We visited on a Sunday around 11. Hubby and I split a tri-tip sandwich and side of fries. The tri-tip was cooked perfectly, melt in your mouth, not over or under cooked. Served on toasted bread with lettuce, tomato and sweet, but not cloying, sauce that didn’t over power the excellent flavor of the beef. The fries were also perfectly prepared, slightly crisp, hot and the right amount of salt. Our friends had the brisket sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich with grilled pineapple. They both pronounced their sandwiches excellent. For beverages, two of us had Ace Cider (hard) and the guys had Blue Moon. These were served in ice cold glasses, a very nice touch.
The restaurant is small but has a really nice vibe. You place your order at the counter and they bring the food to you. It was fun to watch the cooking taking place. There is a roomy patio with plexiglass to protect from the ocean breeze. We stayed inside but a few groups were enjoying the patio with kids and pooches.
The breakfast menu looks awesome and since we come to Bodega Bay a couple times a year I am certain we will try that on our next visit.
