The first thing that you experience when entering Quintessence is the absolute beauty of the design, artwork and materials and the warmth of the staff. Everything is carefully designed to provide guests an amazing Anguillan experience. Everything is top of the line, the design of the hotel, the rooms, the bed and bed linens, bathroom amenities, towels, the artwork, the pool and grounds, the landscaping – everything. The magnificent, incredible eclectic artwork combining Caribbean and Asian influences is everywhere you look. Quintessence is beautiful to look at and remarkably comfortable and welcoming. But the above all, it is the wonderful, friendly and highly professional staff that makes the Quintessence experience unsurpassed. Mr. Fieger truly succeeded in realizing his dream to create a villa hotel the embodies the best of Anguillan hospitality. We are Cap people for many years and love the beaches of Anguilla. Long Bay is not one of Anguilla’s best beaches and Quintessence has to upgrade its beach experience and amenities. Charging $10 for a bottle of water without telling us was unexpectedly tacky at a hotel which charges top of the chart room rates. We know that Quintessence has only been open for a few months and trust that as they welcome more guests they will work out these kinks. The only other negative is the restaurant. Breakfast (included) was great, although a menu of choices would make it easier for the kitchen staff and guests, but the lunch and dinner menu disappoint. Something more Anguilla-centric, even a local menu in addition to white tablecloth would be nice. We’re looking forward to seeing our new Quintessence friends when we return to Anguilla next year.

We can for dinner but did a tour of the Hotel too. There were eight of us - and every dish was perfect. From Caribbean Fish Soup to Rib Eye with Bernaise to Pistacheo Creme Brûlée and all points in between. The staff talented, discreet and attentive - and the highlight is Albert the wine steward - a jewel in the crown.

The hotel. Beyond words. So beautiful - such detail - every room individual and opulent. No two pieces of furniture alike. It’s like being in a mansion of an extremely rich friend - but in the public spaces - the staff treat you like the owner.

It’s Anguilla. But not as you know it. It’s a very classy addition to the upscale tourism preferred here. I always stay at the Easy End - and then do a couple of nights in the West - and this is beyond expectations.

The photos just do not do it justice. It is breathtaking, gorgeous - well done Geoffrey Feiger for raising the bar this high !
