Hartsop is so beauitful the mountains all around the breath taken cottage to the farm land birds that are singing in the tree views to die for you will not what to go home we will be returning it is near to so many places car or walking
The cottage is roomy and comfortable with a good-sized kitchen and living/dining room. Much bigger than many Lake District cottages. The location is excellent for the Eastern and Far Eastern fells with many walks available right from the door of the cottage. There is a beautiful little garden at the back.
A lovely cosy cottage just right for walkers. Amazing walks right from the front door and Aira Force a short drive away.
This is probably the best holiday cottage we've ever stayed in. It has been well fitted out and is well equipped. The proprietor is very helpful and friendly. The location is perfect for fell walking in the Glenridding/Patterdale area. Very secluded, very quiet, very dark at night!
No mobile signal, wifi Ok. Just perfect for getting away from the 'rat race' for a week. If if it was possible I would rate it 6 stars!

This was my first visit to the Lake District and thought this was a gorgeous looking cottage very near to where we wanted to go walking. After a long drive, the cottage is even more lovely than in the photos. We were greeted by the owners, who were wonderful, they had emailed over the months up to our holiday to make sure all queries and questions were answered. They gave us a tour of the cottage and explained how everything worked and gave us ideas of other walks to do as well, they made us feel very welcome.
The cottage it's self was bigger than I expected with plenty of room for the three of us to relax and very quirky which we loved. The garden was a great place to sit for morning coffee or afternoon wine and a book, the scenery is breathtaking. It's ideal if you want to be right in the heart of the countryside, with pubs and shops a short drive away, we had a marvellous stay and will definitely be back.
