“Perfect family villa”
Reviewed 10 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We had a wonderful week. Pilar and Miguel were extremely accommodating of all our requests/concerns. The house is very nice and extremely clean. We were 4 adults and 4 children -- there was great swimming and room to run and climb. Gorgeous views and close enough to town for whatever we wanted. Also close enough for some fun day trips to the salt mines or kayaking. I highly recommend this villa.

“A beautiful house, in a gorgeous setting in lovely Cardona”
Reviewed 31 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We travelled to Cardona after a week in busy Barcelona, not really knowing what to expect having never been to the area before. The village is lovely with lots of great restaurants (try the Menu del Dia at Mercat de la Baume - it's really good and the staff are lovely - space outside for children to run around too). However, what made the holiday for us (four adults, three children) was the house itself. The downstairs is cool and spacious with comfy sofas and a kitchen with everything you would need (dishwasher, washing machine, two large fridge freezers) and beautiful en suites upstairs. There is a fantastic outside bbq where you can grill the food bought at the great butchers/Sunday market/supermarkets (all of which the owner, Pilar, directed us to) and lots of sitting areas and night lighting so you can make the most of the climate. There is a large grassed area and a pool where the children spent most of their time (you can sit near the pool comfortably too). The owner was just what we liked - friendly but not intrusive; helpful but you really felt the house was yours for the week which is what you want (and should always have) when you rent a villa. We had a wonderful holiday and we'd really like to go back. Tips: try the restaurants, go to the Sunday markets, have a drink in the large open village square (great views), visit the Salt Mine, drive past Montserrat on the way there, take a look around the castle. Ten out of ten.

“Great Place, 5 star and very helpfull English speaking Hostess”

Fabulous View of Mountains and Hills
Pilar ( The hostess) is really there to help. We needed to go to the local medical centre and she came with our son. This really makes a difference as this area speaks Catalan and Spanish, very little english even though it was the weekend and this made a difficult situation resolveable. Excellent.
Swimming pool being covered meant it was always available to use and on the very hot days you could always lift the sides up into the roof.
The House is very spacious and well appointed.
The only point of improvement, which is vital with teenagers, is the wifi is not stable and comes and goes. Again if you contact Pilar, she or her husband will come and resolve.
When the water temperature in the pool dropped we contacted the owner and the solar heating was switched on , problem solved.
Kitchen was massive and had most things. Very usefull as the local restaurants are not plentifull monday to wednesday.
If you are looking for good rest this place fits the bill.

“Nice clean place, good location, easy to get to... but not 5 star! ;)”
Reviewed 17 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

This villa did the job for a week away for some sunshine with privacy. Can't really fault it, although there were some minor things that dropped the review from 5 stars to 4.
The four bedrooms all having en-suite bathrooms was great although one only had a bath and no shower, and one only had a shower but no bath. No biggie. The 3 bathtubs were "hydro-massage tubs", but frankly a few bubbles from the sides wasn't really a massage. Hot water was not often available- it was only warm most of the time, however, when it's scorching hot outside who needs a hot shower anyway?!
The garden is great for sunbathing and has enough space for kids to run around in safely, and the views of the surrounding rural landscape are great. The shaded dining area is a bonus and a coal bbq was used several times. The swimming pool is nice, despite being covered (you can open the sides). I suspect the pool is covered due to wind, but we didn't have that issue during the week we were there. The weather was great, so if you are looking for sunshine in a quiet area with all the mod cons to hand, this place is certainly recommended.

Dear Simon,
thankyou for your review,
about the pool: There is a cover to use it in winter time,
hot water can be heated much more, you just had to ask for it,
but any case I'm really happy you enjoyed our villa,

best regards,
Pilar
