We were excited by the reviews of this place but it didn’t live up to expectation. We had prawns in garlic and chicken croquettes first both tasty. Then we ordered pork and the slow cooked beef. Both like school dinners , beef was nicely cooked but on a bed of fried chunky potatoes and a stodgy gravy. Pork dry again on a bed of fried potatoes in a watery gravy. Wasn’t tapas that I was expecting and felt more like a main meal. No wonderful Mediterranean veg to be seen. Wouldn’t return very bland food.

In central Pollenca, on Carrer de Joan Mas, the Alhambra's tapas were fresh and delicious, most memorably the Triquel cod, the battered squid, the 'muffled' cod and garlicy prawns, and the croquettes. Service was quick, cheerful and charming and the ambience, sitting in the small square, excellent. We spent under 25 Euros each for a top feast. Recommended.

Bar Alhambra gives you a taste of the real Mallorca, just out side the main square on Carrer Joan Mas. The owner is friendly and a is a real character, happy to chat and he also plays great music. The tapas menu is small and that's comforting, because this bar knows what it does well and never disappoints. The owner also has a great wine selection, especially reds - and will spend time with you finding one you enjoy. This feels like a real Mallorcan haunt, and I almost didn't write a review because you don't want droved of tourists to spoil it.

Visited here with my wife and 15 year old for their first experience of tapas
We were seated outside in a great spot for people watching.
Amazing aioli and bread to start whilst we selected our choices
Every dish was fresh, hot and tasty. Potatoes and aioli, potatas bravas, garlic prawns, pork loin, and others I can’t remember, all fab
Lovely wine too, recommended by the waiter
A really busy restaurant with great food, wine and service
Recommended

We've been to Pollenca lots of times over the last 20 years but, for some reason, this was our first meal at Bar Alhambra. It was excellent - a really interesting range of tapas, much of it different to the usual standards, and even the standards, such as patatas braves, were of exceptional quality. Despite it being a really busy night, the service was great with the waiter taking a few moments to chat with customers. We also had a great Galcian white wine that we're now trying to find a way of buying back in the UK!
