“Impressive food, service and setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 January 2012

This was my first visit to the Red Door and I was very impressed. I was part of a group of 12 people, and there were two other groups of similar size in the same room. However, I was very impressed by the high standard of service that was maintained, despite the restaurant being so full. The staff were extremely pleasant and efficient. The food was excellent, which other restaurants often don't manage to achieve for big groups. The fire in the bar was welcoming on such a cold night. It would be an equally appealing place in the summer, given its location by the sea and lovely grounds. The prices are quite high, but so is the quality. The only thing that disappointed me was the coffee - weak and tasteless. However, that's a small, but easily remedied fault.

We have eaten and stayed in one of the 4 bedrooms, the service was excellent, the food great and the personal feel (we were the only overnight guests) at breakfast was superb

“Delightful experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 January 2012

Beautiful setting, friendly helpful staff and great food. I was a bit apprehensive before going in as I'm a vegetarian and unfortunately have mostly negative dining experiences. This is a very pleasant exception! I really cannot praise the Red Door highly enough, this is one one the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. Well done to all the staff and of course, the beautiful surroundings make this a truly delightful experience. I have been back and intend to go there many times.

“Brilliant water side setting, amazing food and excellent service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 January 2012

What can i say, have been here three times with family over the last few months without fault even with parties of 15 people.

Sunday lunch menu is great value, 22 euro for three courses or 18 for two with five or so choices per course and menu seems to vary quite often so always something new to try and never disappoints in variety or taste.

Staff are always friendly and courteous, great views across the Swilly in front of an open fire, a must visit if you are in the Derry / Donegal area!
