If you’re lucky enough to stay in one of the rooms that you see on the hotel’s website, you will probably have a nice stay at Palataki. There are one or two rooms, however, that are very, very far from the expectations you get when you look at the website photos. Like room 104, for example, where I was staying this week.

I booked a studio apartment with one bed and terrace. It’s nothing like the website photos + description. What you see while booking is not what you get. The room is dark and uninviting with “what-were-they-thinking” sort of furniture that you don’t want your body to come in contact with. It’s not particularly clean and definitely not fresh. But the biggest problem for me - there are also bugs living there (centipede and milipede) due to humidity problems in the room. The bugs are quite big, and they come out at night. My sister found one in her bed. When I complained about the problem, the management laughed it off, but I know they have been notified about this before by other guests. My advice is, don’t stay at Palataki. If you have to stay at Palataki, make sure to stay in a room above ground level. I was so desperate to get away for my last night that I booked a room at Anniska. The management seemed to not care that I was leaving. My room at Anniska was lovely, though. Much recommended.

We booked villa nr 3, the last one with its own bedroom and private pool at an amazing price. The villa was brilliant with everything we needed and a bonus of maid service every 2 days and a pool cleaner. We never used any of the hotel's facilities as we didn't need to. Complete isolation and relaxation was needed and we were not disappointed. The 10 minute stroll into the village was very easy and there was a fantastic restaurant half way up the hill with a view to die for. We will definitely return.

We stayed for 1 week and had booked a studio which was not a good decision for us. We found the room too small and dark and although the balcony gave us a lovely view, it was not in the best position as it lacked privacy. We were very pleased that we were offered an apartment towards the end of our stay and it was so much better. There is a 10-15 minutes walk into Kardamili village which we did not mind and on the way into the village the first restaurant you pass on the left hand side is excellent.

We spent 10 days this August in Palataki in a double room apartment. From the first day we we're welcomed very warmly from the owners, giving us all the informations we needed for our holidays ( restaurants, beaches excursions ) . Beautiful garden , Cosy pool for the kids and nice clean apartment. Palataki is just a few meters from the center of the village on the Main Street to Stoupa . We enjoyed the company of Pericles , Loula and Alexandros ( owners ) during the day . Definitely the best place to stay if you visit Kardamili.

Room tip: All rooms have fantastic view to the sea

Seems lovely at the outset but not totally practical. We stayed in claustrophobic studio room which is very presentable on first sight but there is a lack of storage space In the form of drawers and, the table top which matches the two (only drawers except for kitchen area) bedside drawers gets cluttered with items which should have been put away in drawers. Only three plug sockets in the room, none of which allow the user to plug in a hairdryer and stand in front of the mirror. The kitchen area contained the usual fridge, kettle, DRAWERS and cupboards, and a two-ringed hotplate. We discovered that the hotplate was faulty later in the week after using it and finding that only one high temperature could be obtained. The whole unit heated up and was quite dangerous. I requested a toaster on day 3 from the owner and a sandwich maker arrived sometime during day 5 so could be used for the remaining 2 days. The balcony though is amazing and is directly facing the sea and sunset. We would return early to our studio to benefit from the sun from around 4pm to 8pm - glorious! The major problem at the moment though is that building works are being Carried on directly across the road for at least the rest of the summer months. We never used the pool and only saw the other guests use this around 5pm onwards when the builders had concluded their days works. Kardamili is a lovely little village which we would willingly recommend.

Room tip: Choose upper studio for views as lower will be blocked by bush and new building works across the road.
