Well worth the trip up the mountain, the views are amazing, especially if you get right to the top.
Great ride on a funicular railway to the ski café with further trips up to Seefelder Hoch and the Hammelkopf peaks. Extensive area for deck chairs on the snow overlooking Seefeld. Cafeteria service with a wide variety of food and drink. Glorious views from Seefelder Hoch Viewpoint and the Cross. Tickets cost from between Euro 20 - 25 depending on whether you take one or two cable car rides in addition to the funicular. A must do trip if you are not skiing but with extensive network of chair and drag lift for skiers.. Skiing from the top is challenging but from the café down there are runs to suit all abilities. If not skiing it is best to choose a clear day as the clouds can cover the mountains at this height and spoil the great view.
Situated high up in the mountains and really only serving "bar type" food at lunchtime, you can sit outside if the weather permits, enjoy your food whilst watches the cable cars go by and skiers almost everywhere.
A fun ride up the mountain, into the realm of the skiers. A cafe being available at the top for keeping your strength up. Save this trip for a good weather day with not much wind. It is worth catching the cable cars from the top station for even better views. Worth wearing foot wear with good grip and a pair of walking poles can be useful
If you are a non-skier or skier, this is the fastest way to get up to the Rosshutte. There is a mountain restaurant at the mid station that serves fantastic food and beers. You can also catch the cable car to the other side of the mountain.
Always a great place to 'shakedown' those unused skiing muscles from one ski trip to the next! Snow this week has been great - a much needed 20cm last week and it has remained cold enough at night to make it fun in the morning - always great to re-visit the Reither Joch Alm for a jäger tee !
Being an experienced skier for 20 years I was a bit afraid that the 35 km of pistes was not enough, but for the 4 days we have been there I must say it was good enough. Reason I guess is the good condition of the lifts and the way you can combine some of the routes. I was not to impressed by the restaurants for lunch, the reitherjoch alm was the only exception here. Friendly personnel, nice location and service at your table so you do not have to walk to a kiosk to pick up your own food and drinks as with all the other restaurants
