“Best company, hands down for shark viewing and customer service.”
Reviewed 17 September 2011

You won't go wrong with choosing APEX! We had a weather cancellation with another company (ASEC, don't go with them) and APEX took care of us. They booked us immediately down to Gansbaai on the next boat trip with a great company. They also booked us on their next available Simons Town trip. This company truly has great customer service, they texted, emailed and called immediately within receipt. They truly were our saving grace to our poor decision to originally go with this other company. APEX crew, thank you so very much for talking with us during our trip, telling us about the sharks, and working your hardest to get some great sightings of great whites. You truly are the best shark organization in Simons Town, and I hope that if you are trying to decide who to work with, go with APEX. They will take care of you whether you have a perfect weather day or a bad one. Thank you, thank you APEX!

“wonderful, awsome experience!!”
Reviewed 12 September 2011

During a Great White Field Course with Dr. Alessandro de Maddalena, I had the incredible chance to experience incredible moments around seal island with the crew of Apex Shark Expeditions. Not only that our group was lucky with our sightings - great white sharks, dolphins, seals, Southern right whales, blue sharks and short-fin makos, and, of course, plenty of coastal and pelagic birds - , we also enjoyed being on the boat with Chris and Monique Fallows, and the rest of the amazing crew of Apex Shark Expeditions. I would never want to miss this unbelievable, wonderful trip to the beautiful Great Whites, and the enormous and outstanding knowledge, kindness, and passion for sharks, that the Apex crew happily shared with us. I can highly recommend Apex Shark Expeditions to everyone who is passionate about the environment and the ocean, to naturalists, and - last, but not least - to shark enthusiasts. Have a great time with Chris and Monique!

“Unforgettable!”
Reviewed 26 August 2011

Our family went out on the boat to see sharks and seals, but we were also fortunate to end up in the middle of a dolphin pod on our way to Seal Island. To see them speeding through the water and jumping and diving was awesome! There were few great white sharks in the area on the day of our boat trip, but our sons were able to see one at the very end of their 40-minute cage dive. The crew of the boat was very patient and persistent and wanted all of their clients to experience a great white, so we appreciated their efforts. They were very professional and careful, but they also took the time to talk to us about what, why, and how they do what they do. We learned a lot! Our only complaint was that the price was the same for those that dove to see the sharks and those that stayed on the boat. It would seem logical to charge more for suiting up and getting close and personal with the sharks than for watching from the boat, but that's not how Apex does it.

Good to hear you enjoyed the sharks, dolphins and our crew. It is standard practice throughout the shark cage diving industry for guests to pay the same rate whether they are cage diving or surface viewing. As great white sharks are surface feeders, the viewing experience for guests on the vessel are excellent and comes highly recommended.
Thank you for your review.

“Flying Sharks”
Reviewed 26 August 2011

Three cheers to Chris Fallows, Monique and crew for a truly unique experience. I am no stranger to remote places and have seen marine animals in many of the world’s oceans so I fully expected something special at S. Africa. False Bay did not disappoint. I could not think of proper a superlative as no word could describe what I have witnessed. Seal Island is a ‘mecca’ for anyone who wants to see big sharks fly. The interaction of wildlife here is spell-bounding. The life and death struggles in an ever changing environment, picture postcard setting, right at the door steps of Simons Town makes this place very special and not to mention, very accessible. Go at the right months. Stay for at least a week. Give time for Nature to reveal her secrets. Most importantly go with the expert who cares and are passionate about the place. I would recommend Apex Shark Expeditions without hesitation. I will definitely return again.

“Couldn't have been better!”
Reviewed 18 August 2011

Its taken me a while to write this review as i did this in April, but i've never stopped thinking about it. The day is perfect! Out on the boat with the beautiful sunrise. Out to the Island with thousands of playfull seals, didnt see a breach but who cares! We had a sighting and i was in a cage with a Great White circling for almost 20 minutes, it was amazing. Its always been a dream to see this most beautiful misunderstood shark. Wow! On the boat back to top it all off we had hundreds of dolphins swimming along side the boat, what more could you ask for?

The thing that made the trip so special was the staff. Chris and his wife Monique were so knowledgeable and enthuiastic it was a pleasure to listen and learn. As i dive shop owner, i am usually a little picky with other operators, but everything is Perfect. Dont contemplate going with anyone else, you will be getting 2nd best.

Thanks for such a memorable experience, we will be back as soon as we can.
