This hotel is good - clean, rooms are a good size, breakfast is good, and the staff are extremely friendly! The only downer is that you have to pay for AC (extra 2 JD a night) - but it's not the end of the world.

There's a free shuttle bus to petra and lots of other services (which aren't free) - it's very conveniently placed for visiting petra.

Truly the best choice in Wadi Musa (Petra): great value for money!
-The bedouin style roof is an amizing place to chill out and the view over Petra’s mountains is stunning. The best time to enjoy it is at breakfast (you can have it on the balcony) or at sunset (you can’t miss it!).Free tea and coffee are always available!
- The rooms are cosy and very clean and the bed are NEW. Ok, the bathrooms are a bit small (the building is an old one), but they are CLEAN and with extractor fans. You can have air conditioning by paying a little surplus.
- Working Wi-Fi
- Local traditional breakfast is varied: Jordanian bread and sweets, lebanah, hummus, zatar and local olive oil, date syrup, honey, a variety of jams, cucumbers, tomaotes; they also cook omelettes!
- All the staff (volunteers included) are very friendly. The owners are professional and helpful: Jane and Mohammed will help you arrange your stay in Petra (best hikings, best reastaurants) and in Jordan (transfers; places to visit and so on). They can also help you experience the beautiful bedouin camp which is run by Jane’s husband – Atef- in the amazing Little Petra (unmissable!)
- The hotel is in the high part of the town (2 km far from Petra’s archeological site’s entrance). In the area there are groceries, and a few little restaurants.
After breakfast you may have plenty of energy to walk down, but if you prefer to preserve it for visiting Petra, you can use the free shuttle provided by the hotel 4 times per day (2 in the morning, to visit Petra and 2 in the afternoon, after your visit) .
- If you need a lunch box for your hiking in Petra, just let the hotel know the evening before.
I’m sure you will like the lovely simplicity of the Rocky Mountain and appreciate the committment of his great staff!

Lovely and charming hotel in Wadi Musa. Jane is a superb host. Really friendly and chatty. Helpful with our plans. The hotel has a fabulous view over the wadi musa area. Breakfast is lovely and included. Very comfortable beds. As others have mentioned, space in the bathroom is tight but that's not a big deal. Great value for money and would certainly stay here again if visiting Petra. The shittle service between Petra and the hotel is very handy!

We stayed one night in Wadi Musa at Rocky mountain hotel before setting off to explore Petra. The owner and staff were welcoming and gave us good suggestions about groceries, schedule/tips for Petra, etc. Check-in and check-out were easy and the price was very affordable compared to other places in the area and jordan in general. We like the simple, rustic feeling of the hotel. Our room was very basic, but it suited us well and the heat worked relatively well throughout the night. The highlight of our stay here was the breakfast area on the top floor of the hotel. The view from there is absolutely incredible and we spent the entire breakfast looking out the window over wadi musa. We liked the the breakfast area was decorated in typical bedouin style as well. The hotel is located at the top of wadi musa, so it gives a good vantage point. The breakfast offered was a jordanian style breakfast with bread, eggs, labneh, jams, olive oil, olives, tea, etc. and it served us well for our long day ahead in Petra. I would definitely recommend staying here for budget travelers looking for a simple place as their base in Wadi Musa.

Room Tip: be sure to pay for heat if you're there in the winter. it gets cold at night!
