The trip down the river is very pleasant, good value, the scenery is spectacular, and the information for English speakers in a small pamphlet was very interesting and thorough. Unfortunately the information was much less from the person guiding the boat, and the most off-putting parts were the sexist and racist jokes from him, egged on by one of the other guests. Do yourself a favour and ask for the small English guide, ignore the rest and just enjoy what should be a relaxing, wonderful journey.

The Dunajec river is the border river between Slovakia and Poland. Slovakia out of its many rivers has only two rivers which flow through Poland to the Baltic Sea up North (the river Dunajec and the river Poprad). All other rivers go to the Black Sea heading south east. Rafting starts in the town of Cerveny Klastor and goes for 10 kilometers down the stream. The border between Poland and Slovakia go right through the middle of the stream.
Rafts are wooden boats which can take up to 12 people. Two rafters are managing the boat and no active participants from the passengers is required. Rafting is suitable for families, couples even older people.
Views are stunning and I recommend to experience it if you are around Cerveny Klastor.

Our guide/captain had a great personality; a good sense of humor; a lot of knowledge about the river, the mountains and history; and spoke excellent English. We had a wonderful experience.
