My wife and I visited Nakamanda as part of our honeymoon. We had a pleasant stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel. While there are no major and obvious flaws, the resort is in need of some updates and renovations. The pool and roof tiles were chipped/broken. There were not enough beach chairs for guests and we found that other guests had reserved the chairs for later use, which meant that we missed out.

The food was a bit hit and miss. We found a restaurant across the road was a much better option (Royal Tandoor) which was exceptional. The breakfast selection was good, particularly the omelette station.

I'd also recommend hiring a scooter from across the road. All scooters are brand new, regularly undergo maintenance, are very affordable. The business is extremely professional and reliable! The name of this company is The White Orchid!

The staff at the resort were very helpful, accomodating and extremely friendly. They are all an asset to the hotel and we could not fault them! They definitely made our experience even better.

I would recommend staying here as it is in a good location and is still a overall good resort. It just needs some touch ups to bring it back to the 5 stars it once was.

We stayed in Nakamanda over Christmas.
The staff is extremely friendly and proactive.
The rooms are stylish and clean.
The restaurant offers good food, Thai and Western style.
If you want to go swimming, you can either use the big pool or walk to the sea. In the sea you should go swimming at high tide.
For me, the best thing is that it is never crowdy, you dont see many other people and normally you are alone in the pool, even in high season. And if you see other people, they have good manners.
We will definitely come back...

Room tip: Upper villas offer a better view, but are more expensive.

Our room at Nakamanda Resort and Spa was stunning. It was so spacious and the hydro pool is an added bonus. There were lovely touches left each evening on the bed with flowers and messages. My two reservations are the breakfasts and the pool.

The quality of the breakfast is not great with only the same 3 choices of fresh fruit available every single day. The rest of the breakfast is not the usual standard of a 5 star hotel. I realise it is a very small hotel however maybe a fresh menu choice might work better than having wastage.

The swimming pool badly needs updating. The paint has come off the majority of the tiles making it look quite ugly. I understand however from the Reception that the pool will be repaired for next season.

The plus point for Nakamanda are their staff. Each and every one of them go above and beyond and are a credit to the hotel.

This hotel has spacious rooms, most with gorgeous views overlooking a bay. We found the food and service to be well above average. The grounds are well tended. You may see the occasional water monitor lizard, which are charming in themselves. We found the emphasis on service and care for visitors.

Room tip: Upstairs rooms offer magnificent views.
