Cabarete East is a quiet, clean, beautiful condominium. It is in front of the ocean with a pool and restaurant on site. It has a new manager that is very efficient.
It is great for those who want to enjoy town just for a while but then retreat to a much calmer place. If you are looking for a young, populated spot then look elsewhere. If you want peace, comfort and quiet, then you hit the bullseye with this spot.

Room Tip: If you don't mind the walk upstairs the 4th floor of the F building has quite a view.

We rented a one bedroom on the ground floor of building A for three months. Our landlord Ilya was very accomidating and helpful. The suite was somewhat sparsely furnish and the kitchen list was missing several items, nothing earth shattering and we got by but could stand to be updated. The bed was terrible and sagging badly, we spoke with one of the owners who informed us to contact our landlord as they are often not aware of the condition if they don't visit often. We contacted Ilya and within a few weeks we had a new bed!

The complex itself is wonderful! We made friends and felt very welcomed and at home there. The staff were exceptional! Grounds well maintained, security was friendly, helpful and very dedicated. Felt very safe there. Minerva (sp?), our maid was excellent! Wanted to take her home with us! Restaurant served wonderful food too! Can't think of anything on the menu that we didn't enjoy. Highly recommend east condo and plan to return in the future!

We just returned from our first visit to the Dominican Republic, and I long to return. A two-bedroom condo at Cabarate East on the second floor was our base for this weeklong trip. We were very pleased with our accommodations in the building to the left of the administration area as you face the ocean. Unlike some who have written below, our kitchen had basic pots and pans, plates, cups, and flatware, but I didn't see a blender, and there was definitely no dish or laundry detergent. No problem for us, as we were advised in advance to stop at the supermarket en route from the airport and purchase essentials such as soap, bread, milk, fruit, etc. Our unit was perfectly quiet, and we all slept beautifully. As noted elsewhere Wayne, the property manager, is extremely forthcoming; Alberto at the front desk is also very helpful. My one suggestion is that Cabarete East extend the hours of its staff such that someone is available to answer questions after 6:00 PM. An additional two hours would be beneficial, particularly for newcomers. If you decide to explore the environs, and would prefer a private driver rather than a tour company, Wayne or Alberto can secure someone for you. We were absolutely delighted with the stellar service we received from Francisco Juma and Ismael Vasquez. Both speak English well, are prompt, flexible, and eminently knowledgeable about the area. We enjoyed the company of each enormously, and will knock on their computer screens if we return to Cabarete (No! WHEN we return to Cabarete!). We used all modes of transportation to get to and from town. One afternoon we walked back from the far end, after a small feast at The Chocolate Bar, and it took about 45 minutes. We used the local bus when it wasn't full, and that cost 25 pesos per person. Taxi fees varied considerably for the same location; on occasion we paid 150 pesos, and the highest we were charged was 350. We realized that for us, the best approach was not to ask the driver how much, but to give him what we assumed it should be. All were satisfied with 150-200. On one night, when neither the bus nor any taxis were available, we took a motorcycle. Regardless of how we traveled, we always felt safe, but we did not walk into or from town at night. Taco Tuesday Night at Martini's should not be missed for the quality, price, and friendly service. We also enjoyed Gordito's (Mexican), Parilla Luis (Dominican BBQ), Bliss (Italian Fusion), and Bayriscer Hof (German). The area abounds with activities and attractions, such as snorkeling in nearby Sosua, the caves at El Choco in Caberete (the road to the entrance is across from Ocean Dream), 27 Falls, Playa Grande, the Cable Car, etc. I suggest you use TripAdvisor for ideas and, upon your arrival, seek Wayne's indispensable feedback. Cabarete East is the perfect place to relax in-between adventures or, as many do, throughout your stay. Enjoy! Thank you Wayne, Alberto, Francisco, and Ismael for a fabulous vacation in Cabarete!

Room Tip: Best views are from the administration building, and the end units on the two adjacent buildings.

We discovered Cabarete East in 2008 and we have vacationed there for 6 to 8 weeks every year since. We've gotten to know many of the owners and the staff. With the on-site restaurant, it really feels like a community. It's a treat to watch the fishermen come up from the beach and see the restaurant manager purchase fish, shrimp, and crab. Put your order in a few days ahead and Pedro and his staff will serve you up a shrimp dinner -- great service.

My wife and I along with another couple have been to Cabarete for three years running, and it is places and people like this that make it such an easy decision to return! Travelled for only one week over New years 2014/2015. We booked in online. Contact a guy at Cabarete Remax of all places! Wayne Milley was the rental rep for the local Remax agency and he made the whole process too easy. Being first time condo renters there is some hesitancy to wire $1000.00 down payment to the DR but after one phonecall, he explained how it all goes down and was a very seamless process. The best thing about it was that it was him that organized our transportation from the airport, and that he was ONSITE every single day from 7am to 5pm. He lives next door and he answers his cell when it rings. He was a wealth of local information regarding food, transportation, where to buy cheap wine and beer etc. The beach out front is beautiful but too much under current for swimming.
We shared a 2 bedroom condo. It was clearly decorated by someone with not only attention to detail but someone with an obvious eye and a touch of class. The place was better than the pictures showed. It had a perfect ocean view, and the bedrooms come with private ensuite baths for privacy. We enjoyed breakfast in and some of the best coffee in the world. Fully stocked with everything you may need right down to large washer/dryer combo (soap included)
I don't know how Wayne could have made it easier for us? Answering questions, fixing a light that would come on, having our AC repaired within one hour! ALL service!
There's a couple on site that own Martinis bar and grill. They are beyond friendly and gave us a lift into town when they noticed us waiting for the local bus. We ate out every night. Cabarete is full of incredible places to eat and its all better priced than home. Martinis (onsite) serves good food for sure but the drink prices are far too high and the happy hour does not include much variety. We went out for drinks or sat on our balcony and made our own with the perfect blender that was in our place for our use. $4.00 US for a rum and coke in a country where they essentially give rum away is not acceptable. The bar needs a re focus and more of a party atmosphere. We wanted to watch the World Junior Hockey tournament and would have done this from the comfort of Martinis bar. No TV and high prices.Went into town and had wings and ribs from 8' away from about 6 large flatscreen TV's and a place called "The Lazy Dog" Canadian owned here and they just know what to do! Enjoyed several hockey games and many drinks there! I recommend Cab East! I recommend Wayne as well (A Peterborough Ontario Canada businessman) who has decided that the DR is his new life.
Thanks again Wayne! I'm bringing the kids next time!

Room Tip: Talk to Wayne! Google everything! He has many resort rentals at his fingertips. Hes a good guy to know.
