This hotel looks much better in the pictures than in reality. It was under construction when we came and overall it looks like a cheap, poorly managed hotel. The manager and the customer service are the worst here. We arrived late in the evening, very tired. Although the hotel was not fully booked, they gave us the worst room they had, in front of a construction site. We asked for a better room and after hours of discussion, they agreed, but only giving it as an upgrade at full price. Whilst waiting for this whole embarrassing discussion to take an end, we found out that the flushing was not working! They were not able to repair, 2 guys tried. The manager, a very arrogant person, wouldn't give another room for a better price, even though the trashy room had no flushing and no hope to get repaired. We were so tired of arguing with the receptionist (the manager wouldn't even talk to us on the phone) that we agreed on paying the full price for the upgrade, since they said that only their best room was available. I do not believe it, seemed just like the manager wanted to rip us off. To sum up: After a 10 hours flight you get no flushing but if you want another room, please pay another 300 euros. The new room had a disgusting ac which smelled like mold and the dripping was so massive that we always had our own lagoon in the room. I wouldn't call that room clean neither, the bathroom was dirty. But the thing that disturbed me the most during our stay was the very strong disgusting smell of fat, like coming from a deep fryer! It comes from the restaurant and begins at 9, 10 am! Even sitting on our balcony on the third floor we could smell it like we were in the middle of some serious corn dog making. We tried the restaurant twice (once for breakfast and once for dinner) and it was as good as the smell. The only good thing about this hotel is that you are really on the beach. But there are many beautiful Condos nearby, also on the beach, with better prices and probably nicer staff. Therefore there is no way I would recommend it nor get back there.

Super hotel! Everything and everyone was really nice. The food was good, the location directly at the beach was perfect and the surrounding fits perfect to the hotel offer. We had a lot fun at Villa Taina in Cabarete.

It is a special thing when you come to a place where everyone and everything is there to make your vacation perfect.
Hotel Villa Taina is wonderful. The beach is beautiful, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly, eager to serve and set us up with amazing tours, adventures and entertainment. The food was extraordinary and the prices were very reasonable. I would return there in a heartbeat the next time I can get away for a real vacation.

Hotel is very well located in the entry of Cabarete next to restaurants and shops but as well next to many kite and windsurf schools .Small parking lot in front of the hotel but with friendly security staff who will try to help you . The staff is very professional, friendly and helpful.
Room is neat ,nice air conditioning with remote.

Enjoy the great buffet breakfast taken on the beach where the bar and restaurant are
located .

Wifi Internet is available in rooms but as well next to the pool and on the beach .Speed is pretty slow (<0.9mb/s).

Great place to stay at Cabarete !

Villa Taina (veeya tie-eena) met our expectations. The place is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Walking distance to some good restaurants and Janet's (yah-nays) a large supermarket just east of the hotel. I am including some phonetic pronunciations of names for you as when I asked for "Janet's" I was met with a blank stare. There is also a Scotiabank just east of the hotel along the main street. Our room was on the 3rd floor and a tad smaller than we would have liked, but manageable. Breakfast was good, with made to order omelettes in addition to the other fare.

Room Tip: If elbow room is important to you, upgrade to one of the more expensive rooms.
