All my reviews of Ethiopian hotels are ranked in comparison with Ethiopian hotels after a month of travelling and are not ranked against Western hotels. Most have hairdryers or will provide on request. All provide loo paper, soap as a minimum and some have WiFi. advise taking ear plugs wherever you stay as call to church starts early, is loud and persistent. Hotels do not have double glazing.
The Goha is on top of a hill at the edge of town with amazing views. Locals come here to use as viewpoint. The rooms are light and airy with plenty of space. Bathroom is small but more than adequate. More rooms are being added but this in no way detracted from standard. Grounds have bouncy castle and small playpark for children. There is also a decent size swimming pool but lacks privacy from people looking at views and feels exposed. Public areas are nicely decorated. Inside and outside eating area. Food good. Good place to spend an extra night if travelling with children who need a break from touring. Sleep quality poor because of church call to prayer which hotels can do nothing about. The ranking for noise level reflects this and not the hotel itself.More
