Owner description: Jardín de Cactus was the last intervention work César Manrique performed in Lanzarote. The artist from Lanzarote could see beyond how run down the ancient rofera was. Roferas were the quarries that raids are taken from to create a very particular home for cactaceae flowers from all over he world. Surrounded by the largest cactus plantation of the island, dedicated to crops of cochineal insect, a product of great financial relevance in Lanzarote in the 19th Century. Jardín de Cactus has around 4,500 specimens of 450 different species, of 13 different families of cactus from the five continents. The green shade of the plants stands out against the blue sky and the dark volcano creating a harmonious explosion of colour that impresses visitors. The only sounds that break the peace and quiet that prevails, are singing birds and boozing insects, enjoying their very own oasis.

Breathtaking display of hundreds of cacti carefully presented over several different levels. Definitely a must-do on the island.

Very interesting botanical garden with plenty of very interesting cactusses to see. We had our almost 1 year old with us and could easily access everything with his stroller, there was just one place where we had to carry it up stairs.
The cafe is very nice to sit and have a relaxing drink

Externally, it gives nothing away just a good area to park but inside! There is a wealth of plants, take time to enjoin it all.

Another Cesar Manrique masterpiece. After visiting his Museums I had high expectations for Jardin de Cactus but this is a pure masterpiece. From the minute you enter you are just blown away with the gardens in front of your eyes. Everything is just perfect and all the different types of Cactus. I have thought once you saw one Cactus that was it, not here. Coffee shop and restaurant with fabulous views over the gardens and again his view windows.
As I don’t like heights I did not get to the windmill, I would imagine the view from there was the ultimate view unfortunately I had to pass
