I hiked to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain today and it was great. The views were spectacular and the hike was good and challenging. There are two trails, one takes you to the top and the other goes around. The marina has boats for rent and areas for fishing and camping. Try this place out if you are ever in the area.

Nice views, interesting area scenery. Dam is interesting. Did not get to see a lot so can't say more.

Decided to drive north to see what I would find. Decided to go to Fairfield Bay because it is where the original Fairfield (now Wyndham) started. Didn't get to go around the lake to hear the history in the pontoon however the scenery from the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain is beautiful. There are 90 steps to get you to the top of the mountain. It is steep in some places.

We had the pleasure of camping at Greers Ferry Lake this passed week. Even with the extremes in the temperature we couldn't have had a better week. I equally enjoyed basking in the sun while laying in the hammock and sitting out by the campfire bundled up with two blankets. The lake is truly one of my happy places!!! It could be yours too!!!

This is a beautiful lake with an amazing blue-green color to it!
So happy to see limited commerce in this area which will probably preserve the beauty for many generations to come.
Sugarloaf Mountain is so much fun to hike...Fairfield Bay Marina offers shuttle service and 2 hours to hie before a return pick up.
Call them for current details. We fully enjoyed this activity as a family with teenagers.
