Spent 3 safaris and about 15 hours in the park on a private Safari. Trips were through Umhluluwe Safaris. Mphulani our guide was amazing!!! We saw all of big 5 up close as well as many other animals birds terrapins and flowers. The park is absolutely beautiful and a must see if visiting SA.

I know from previous experience that it can be awesome to drive through this reserve! We have never stayed in any of the accommodation. A few years ago when we drove through, we saw lots of animals, even had to stop as a herd of elephant were crossing and splashing in a stream we also had to cross. So we saw the elephants up close and it was something I was looking forward to especially with children with me this time. Unfortunately we didn't see any elephants but saw some zebras, impala, giraffes, warthog and buffalo. I hope to visit again in future and hopefully have a more memorable experience!

It was a nice day out, probably not the best season to view game after the recent rains as it was very overgrown. The restaurant at Hilltop is ridiculously expensive, especially for locals and quite a rip-off. We did see 3 of the big 5 and the ranger that took us on the drive was very knowledgeable. Credit card machine at the Memorial gate didnt work, luckily they allowed us to go and pay at Hilltop.

We started early morning in St Lucia and went with Jephry (Shonalonga Tours) at the Imfolozi Park for a Safari. Unfortunately we had not the best weather (rainy) but still we saw quit many animals like Rhino, Elephants, Giraffes and monkeys beside some others. Best was our guide who made us an enjoyable trip with his experience and his great and positive character.

Whilst i have always enjoyed visiting Hluhluwe-Imfolozi and have seen many animals including cheetahs, this visit was different. We saw 4 of the big 5, 3 of which were within 200 m of each other. But what hurt most that the Parks Board had introduced 6 wild dogs when the grass was tall and they were confined to the roads and the lions were killing them off one by one. On 25th March one was killed by lions, another unaccounted for and on the 26th March a third had its throat badly bitten by 2 lionesses and fell down every 20 m due to loss of blood. The location of the dog was phoned through to the park's official but whether they saved it is unknown. When will humans stop using animals as experimental animals that are considered dispensable?
