Not on the usual trail... You can go all the way till the lake & go quite close to the glacier... It's on the way from Poincenot to Piedra del Fraile, might officialy be closed but I'm not sure...

Our first stop from the El Pilar trailhead. What an awesome sight! It had rained the night before, but upon leaving El Pilar early morning, the sun was shinning and it was cyrstal clear. We enjoyed our hike and the views kept getting better and better along the way.

This glacier descends off a shoulder of Monte Fitzroy and ends in a tumble of blue sera sera above the small lake. Spectacular views can be had from easy-to-reach viewpoints along the trail.

If you are walking from Rio Blanco to Poincenot or from Poincenot to Piedra del Fraile do not miss this short deviation and walk till the lake in front of this impressive glaciar.

As you're pounding the paths around Laguna de los Tres it's well worth a few hours detour to pick up the sketchily-marked trail to Piedras Blancas.

Part of the adventure is picking your way over massive boulders to reach the grandstand view right in front of the glacier and lagoon (not recommended if you're after a gentle trail, this requires full scrambling to reach).

We got there, and it was completely deserted which was lovely. The glacier itself casts a very pretty scene over the cobalt lagoon. Like a tiny version of Perito Moreno, ice cascades down its sides and waterfalls switch on and off before your eyes. Pretty magical.
