The Courtroom Café is easy to miss, which would be a pity; it's situated upstairs inside the Market Hall in the High Street. The full breakfast was excellent and good value for money. The bacon sandwich on the other hand was not so good - served on white steamed bread. The bread was supposed to come from the baker across the road and therefore, we expected a freshly cut 'doorstop' bloomer sandwich but perhaps that was just us. The bacon was great but the bread... A pair of scissors are provided to open the sauce sachets (great) but a bottle would be much easier. All the food (apart from the bread) is made on the premises daily from local produce. Soup, pasta dishes, quiches, baked potatoes, sandwiches etc. are available for lunch. The cakes looked lovely and the piece of bread pudding we bought for later was delicious. Breakfast is served 0900 - 1130 and the café closes at 1700 hours (1000 - 1600 hours on a Sunday).

Above Crickhowell's Market, you will find The Courtroom Cafe which has a 5* rating for food hygiene. There is a wide selection of food on offer: soup, sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, filled jacket potatoes, various salads, quiches and hot meals. A lift is available for those who cannot walk upstairs and there is even a separate room where people with dogs can eat in comfort.
Well worth a visit.

This pretty village has a number of attractive cafes but we opted to try the Court Room. You head up a short flight of stairs to enter the cafe. At the bottom of the stairs was an artist displaying lots of art available to buy.
My partner had a chicken & leek pie and I had quiche both of which came with an assortment of delicious fresh salads. Service was quick and friendly and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended!

Very popular café with a busy takeaway trade as well. Home made savoury dishes with a good selection of salads to accompany. Unpretentious good value meals.
