Great accommodation just outside the historic town of Builth Wells. If you have a couple of hours spare make the most of exploring the expansive grounds and river walks. Top tip: the 7 course taster menu is fantastic! An excellent find.

Fantastic hotel set in stunning grounds and in a great location for exploring the Breacon beacons. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. We were there for a short 2 night break with friends and had such a good time we will return. The rooms were clean and tidy and had every convenience for a fabulous Victorian residence. The food was fantastic so we eat there both nights. Very reasonably priced, highly recommended.

Stopped by on the off chance of lunch, was surprised that we were the only customers in the building! Staff seemed surprised to see us! Lovely picturesque setting overlooking the river and woodland! Lunch was simple, just club sandwich we ordered, to be fair it was huge portion! Would visit again but with a group of friends, not the cheapest option for lunch, 2 sandwiches , pint of cider and a wine was over £36 , but a quirky venue!

We bought a deal from TravelZoo, which we would highly recommend. The receptionist welcomed us at this beautiful old hotel and took us on a tour of the various public areas before we were shown to our comfortable and spacious room - a pleasing touch!
We enjoyed a good walk around the large grounds along the river, among some beautiful trees: the garden is a good balance between being natural and cultivated.
Our tasting menu was well prepared and presented, and breakfast was varied, substantial and also well presented.
With friendly staff and immediately noticeable ambience, this is a hotel we would strongly recommend.
