As group of seven we sampled the gourmet taster menu to celebrate an aniversary The wide selection an quality of the mea was outstandng. The staff were delightful, professional in everyway and helpful to those of out party with dairy and gluten restrictions. Every member of the group was happy.
Four of the party stayed a second night and the regular menu was equally pleasing.

This very impressive building in the centre of this delightful town surrounded by the most beautiful scenery is the setting for one of our most enjoyable short breaks. The Gourmet special deal is extremely good value and the staff in all departments were faultless being efficient and very friendly and helpful. The six-course taster menu was delicious and cooked and presented perfectly and the buffet breakfast was also superb. The indoor pool was of a very high standard and the room had everything that we might require. The general ambience of the hotel was very relaxing and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. In the main restaurant Vaughn and Isabella were especially friendly and attentive in a very natural and endearing way which added greatly to a most enjoyable meal.

We have stayed in the Metropole twice before and had fabulous times. However we did not have such an excellent hotel experience as we did before. To be truthful I wasn't impressed for the money we paid for bed and breakfast. The reception staff were excellent as were the bar staff, restaurant staff during dinner and the night porter was really helpful. Our room was somewhat tired and the bed was really old with spring noises waking you up when you moved, however the bathroom was excellent. I looked out of the window our view was over the park at the front of the hotel and the windows inside were not very clean. Dinner was lovely, each course was tasty and very well laid out and the service was outstanding in all fairness. Breakfast was a different affair. The hot buffet was almost empty and there wasn't a member of staff replenishing the food. We had to call someone after we had been standing there for ages and ages. Bacon finally came but no tomatoes or eggs another lengthy wait. Each table had little milk bottles for guests and ours had been used by someone else and had greasy finger prints over it, not a good experience. It is such a beautiful hotel and a huge landmark of LLandrindod Wells it is a shame that somethings are not as good as others. We will return again in the future and hope these little things have been sorted out.

I stayed at this Property 12 months previous and just loved the Ambience and couldn't wait to go back to it, lucky enough to a cancellation prior to the Royal Welsh Show so my dreams were realised, must admit the rooms were warm due to the unseasonable summer but lived up to all my expectations. Just love this Hotel wish I could bring it to Australia
