“Highly recommend ”
Reviewed 11 June 2018 for a stay in June 2018

Planned since the end of January and exceeded expectations. Greeted by Maggie who showed around 'The Carriage. It is evident that it is looked after with much tlc. I took my grandchildren 11, 10 and 8 they loved it. First night we were watched by Red Kites flying overhead, by rounders and footie the grassed area. Never got to walk to the river along the disused track but we did go to Port Patrick , the Lighthouse at the Mull O Galloway had fish and chips from Polar Bites the large haddock was enough for 3. Before going home we went to the Gem Rock Museum in Creetown, detoured to the Cream O Galloway for ice cream, before setting off home. We loved out stay and would definitely come back.

“Great stay with friendly owners”

Perfect scenic location with plenty of space to relax. Carriage is bigger than you would imagine with plenty of room for three couples.

“Beautiful tranquil location”
Reviewed 11 May 2018 for a stay in May 2018

Easy to find just off the A75 west of Castle Douglas this is a beautiful quiet
locationwith views across to Threave Castle. The carriage is just beyond the station house and there is plenty of parking. The carriage is spacious with a large sitting room and a balcony/deck to sit and watch the sun go down. The rooms were all nicely furnished and there was milk in the fridge and tea and coffee. There was a folder with photos of the carriage restoration. So whether you’re a railway enthusiast or just want something a bit different this is highly recommended.

“A wee jem for the kids”
Reviewed 18 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

Booked a three night stay in the train carriage plus B&B in the owners house. Very comfy beds, clean and well maintained. Great Scottish breakfast, with no set time owners just so accommodating.
Nine of us all together.
The four kids didn’t want to look round the area, they were so happy in the train playing guards passengers and drivers.
The owners are lovely people and Eric told me the story about his station master grandfather. There’s a story book about the train with pictures, which the kids found fascinating.
There’s lots to do in the area when we managed to drag the kids away, the weather wasn’t that great but we still had a smashing time.
Would love to go back.
Thank you so much.
