“A great weekend in a beautiful part of the world.”
Reviewed 3 February 2016 for a stay in December 2015

We so enjoyed our stay at Burnbrae, it's a great base for so many activities its hard to know where to start.
On return after a long walk I can tell you that the bath was fantastic! We had friends in the area and used Burnbrae as our respite from the parties. Coming from the city to peace and quiet was heaven, we slept so long we almost missed the mornings all together.
I would stay here again, in fact we can't wait.

“Private and pretty - a quiet slice of peace!”

Having had a shocking experience at a pub, we decided to find self-contained accommodation. This little cottage - Mungo - was just what we needed.
Situated in the Scottish Borders country, set in a row of beautifully quiet and peaceful self-contained cottages, we could not have been happier. Rural views with access to country walks and horseriding nearby.
When we arrived the owner presented us with a tea tray complete with fresh baked scones. A wonderful, unexpected welcome!
The cottage has all the mod cons and the laundry facility just up the path is excellent. The central heating kept the place cosy and the sun poured into the conservatory area warming us in the cool autumn weather.
Nearby Floors Castle is a must see and the excellent supermarket just on the outskirts of Kelso had all that we needed, including a good selection of wines. Highly recommended and would stay there again in a flash.

We have visited Burnbrae many times and always marvel at the wonderful accommodation and surroundings as well as the terrific welcome we receive. The cottages are all superbly furnished and equipped. Beds extremely comfortable. Wifi now excellent. This time we stayed in Begrum and our young labrador had a wonderful time in the surrounding fields. The porch and heated cloakroom made wet walks manageable! Thank you Yvette and boys.

“In the country 3 miles north of Kelso, it was comfortable, warm, & peaceful.”
Reviewed 1 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

If you're looking for a small place in the country, as a base for touring the Borders, these cottages are worth serious consideration. We booked at the last minute and were lucky to get the last available cottage. Although sited within yards of the main road, we heard no traffic. There was plenty of space for 5 or 6 cars. The view from the conservatory over the paddocks, with the occasional horses, was so relaxing. The cottage was ideal for two, and while we entertained without feeling squashed, sleeping more than two would have been difficult.
We definitely recommend Burnbrae Holidays, and would welcome the chance to stay there again.

Thankyou taking the time to help others by writing this review. We think that Burnbrae is located ideally for exploring the many towns, historic houses and majestic abbeys in the area.
We have had 13 cars parked in the car park, with organised parking, when we hosted a textile workshop here at Burnbrae.

Mungo's Well is ideal for a couple. We were fortunate to get particularly good weather but I don't think it would matter when you visited. The cottage has everything needed for a quiet break. The conservatory and patio have beautiful views over countryside. The cottage is very well placed for visiting places of interest. A comfortable bed, good shower and large towels add to the pleasure. The WIFI is the best we've had on a country holiday. Kelso has a Coop store in town and just outside there is a Sainsburys so no problem picking up food. I would recommend Burnbrae Holidays to anyone who wants a peaceful retreat in comfort. Many thanks Yvette for your hospitalitity.
