My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in May 2018. The hotel has a lovely setting and there are some nice walks around the property. We found our bedroom was quite shabby and as far as we know there was no air conditioning so with the sun shining on the roof far too hot to sleep well at night. The lounge dining area was capacious but the meals were pretty ordinary. We found the staff a bit "off hand"

Hi Ian S,

Thanks for taking the time to post about your recent stay.

We are operating our rolling refurbishment of the property and will continue to work across the Hotel until all areas have been updated. Whilst this takes time, I do hope that on future stays, you have the chance to enjoy the changes made.

Sorry to hear that you weren't wowed by the food and staff when dining. If you would like to give further feedback so that I can share with the appropriate team members, so we can improve on this, please contact our Customer Service Team on customer.service@crieffhydro.com

In the meantime, thanks for your feedback.

We stayed here (twice) on our tour of Scotland, once going North and again going South. It’s situated on a Loch with lovely views, grounds with a play area, walks around the Loch, and seating areas. (There’s also a Co op a couple of minutes walk away!)
Our first room was slightly better than the second, but both had Loch views and both were large with a decent size bathroom and a good shower. A little bit of updating wouldn’t go amiss and maybe could have been a little more thoroughly cleaned (tea stains on walls, some mould around windows and dust on skirtings) but the beds were comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The receptionists were particularly helpful and pleasant. There’s also a swimming pool, but I can’t comment on this as we didn’t use it. We took our dog too, and they provide a doggy pack with a bowl of food and a biscuit, a mat for the bowl and a towel. Parking is easy, all on the level. They do cater for coach tours, so it was fairly busy on our first visit, but this didn’t detract from our stay.
Not a luxury hotel (and we do like our five stars when abroad!) but we felt it was good value for money, especially as the cost included a three course meal, which was very good.
We would happily stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a Loch view. People do walk past ground floor rooms, so beware!

Hi SuzieB53,

Great to hear you enjoyed your North and Southbound stays with us!

Our rooms do vary due to the style and nature of the building. We currently operate a rolling refurbishment of the property, and while this does take time to complete, I would hope that on future stays, you do have the opportunity to enjoy the changes that we are making.

Hopefully we can welcome you back before long, and thanks for taking the time to write a review.

Lovely setting around this hotel, but our room had a strong smell like a barn along with black mold growing on the walls in the bathroom. The front desk gentleman was very nice and helpful but his was the only smile we saw from the staff there, which is disquieting. Lovely, peaceful setting was very appreciated. Others in our group were happy with their rooms, ours we couldn’t wait to leave!

Not much around the hotels location except breathtaking views and lovely walks!! The hotel itself is quite comfortable. Rooms are a bit old and bathroom probably needs updating but it is not in the middle of a major city afterall. We were on a tour group and stayed here for three nights and included dinners and breakfast were quite good. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Overall a good place to stay to experience the Scottish Highlands.

We stayed at the Isles of Glencoe Hotel for 1 night on our CIE tour. The hotel is three star hotel. The views and grounds are gorgeous and inviting situated on a lake.
Rooms were clean. Our room had a door that opened out to a small patio with a view of the mountains....and car park and playground. ;) Still, we enjoyed our patio having pulled chairs outside and chatting with our neighbors. I would stay here again.
