We stayed here (twice) on our tour of Scotland, once going North and again going South. It’s situated on a Loch with lovely views, grounds with a play area, walks around the Loch, and seating areas. (There’s also a Co op a couple of minutes walk away!)
Our first room was slightly better than the second, but both had Loch views and both were large with a decent size bathroom and a good shower. A little bit of updating wouldn’t go amiss and maybe could have been a little more thoroughly cleaned (tea stains on walls, some mould around windows and dust on skirtings) but the beds were comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The receptionists were particularly helpful and pleasant. There’s also a swimming pool, but I can’t comment on this as we didn’t use it. We took our dog too, and they provide a doggy pack with a bowl of food and a biscuit, a mat for the bowl and a towel. Parking is easy, all on the level. They do cater for coach tours, so it was fairly busy on our first visit, but this didn’t detract from our stay.
Not a luxury hotel (and we do like our five stars when abroad!) but we felt it was good value for money, especially as the cost included a three course meal, which was very good.
We would happily stay there again.More
