My wife and I stumbled upon this lovely old holiday home built near the turn of the 20th century by a Glasgow industrialist for his summer getaway abode. Situated within yards of Loch Goil, the scenic views are magnificent while we were spoiled by the Innkeeper Iain and his wife, Alice with impeccable service and meal preparation. Their kindness and attention to every detail from the white table cloth settings in the dining room to the freshly made beds with their fine linen bespoke a regal-style escape at a very fair price.
The town nearby called Lochgoilhead is only minutes away but the seclusion of this hideaway is impressive. Rental boats are located nearby and short treks to hiking trails and nearby scenic castles abound. Why not give Iian or Alice a call and let them pamper you for a weekend the Loch Goil way!!!
P.S. If you enjoyed the novel or the popular movie that took its name , Rob Roy starring Liam Neeson, have Iian tell you about how he acquired the author's property that is immediately adjacent to the Lodge. Iian even has an original copy of the book with the author's hand written notes in it where he critiqued the movie content vis a vis his own story.More
