“An absolute highlight of our holiday”
Reviewed 3 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

In Australia, when initially researching for places to stay in the region during our trip to England, I was immediately drawn to this cottage, simply because of it's name - 'The Pigsty' - I was amused by the choice of name and the photo's depicting the cottage - it was inspired.

What is depicted in the photo's and what you get when arriving at the property are exactly that - and I did a little song and dance when I settled in to my new surrounds - The Pigsty is an absolute gem in a beautiful part of the Lincolnshire Wolds, I couldn't believe our luck in staying in such a lovely cottage in such peaceful surrounds.

The hosts, Chris & Lindsey are extremely welcoming, greeting you like old friends and they really do care about ensuring that your stay is as comfortable as possible, you even get the impression that the cottage really is a labour of love and they want to share it with those who want to experience and appreciate living in the region.

Now down to brass tacks (as the English would say) and what do you get for your money:
- The cottage is extremely clean and modern and immaculate in appearance
- A full kitchen with no compromise of amenities - I comfortably cooked a full roast dinner for both of use on our last night at the cottage (have photos to prove, but just need to work out how to upload to this review)
- Large enough to cater for a family of up to 5 or 6
- Separate large bedroom with double bed and heaps of room to move around
- By reading the visitors book, it appears that dogs are welcome
- Lovely personal touches such as nic-nacs of piggies and lots of great books and games parents and children to indulge

Both my husband and I have travelled to many parts of the world and to be perfectly honest, "The Pigsty" has to be one of the best holiday lets we have ever stayed in. Not just value for money but also the quality of the stay and the hospitality shown by both hosts - we arrived as tenants and left as friends - and that's what made our stay so special.

If anyone has read any of my previous Tripadvisor reviews of other places you'll understand that I always to try to give an honest and unbiased opinion of places to stay, and to be honest, I could not find anything about 'The Pigsty' to be negative, it has such a great atmosphere - our three nights at the cottage were an absolute delight - if we visit England again - we'll be there again - I like the idea of honestly saying "I lived in a Pigsty"!!!

“Absolutely perfect cottage holiday”
Reviewed 22 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We have just arrived back from our 5 day stay at The Pigsty, we had a wonderful peaceful break and could easily have stayed alot longer.
There is nothing I can complain about at all, especially having three lovely comfy sofas, and a comfy bed. The cottage is very spacious and clean, with all equipment provided.
We have been to many cottages around the country and this is definitely one of the best, so good we stayed an extra night.
Billy our Border Terrier loved the enclosed garden.

Reviewed 3 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Had a fantastic weekend away at the Pigsty, very welcoming especially the yummy cupcakes!! Very homely with books, board games etc. Nice and peaceful and lovely to watch the sunset from the Pigsty.
Very clean and spacious, and would highly recommend staying at the Pigsty, I will definitely be returning to the Pigsty soon.

“Home from home”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We had a very relaxing private stay here.
We had a welcome pack basket also cakes, tea, milk, sugar .. Just what we needed after the drive. .our dogs even had a welcome pack. Bed and bowls were even supplied which was a lovely surprise.
It is perfectly situated for us, far enough away from the busyness but near enough to travel to.
Would definitely recommend and love to stay again.

“Lovely peaceful stay”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 for a stay in March 2014

We stayed in the Pigsty in March and was very impressed when we arrived, located at the back of the owners house yet very private with a high fence, great for our dog to run around and nice big patio doors we could leave open. The place is lovely and clean and well equipped even dog bowls etc left for us to use. I would like to say a special thank you to the owner for looking into local pubs which would allow dogs. Very helpful. Theres not a great deal to do in the area however this suited as us as we walked the dog and relaxed. I would def recommend for this type of break.
