Somewhat grim, verging on rough, inside. Food was pretty average, not terrible but wouldn't think of returning really. Barstaff were friendly.

Avoid this place at all costs. Visited on Sunday (23rd Aug) with my partner, partner's mum and our 2 week old baby. Ordered three jacket potatoes with two pints of orange and lemonade and one pint of lager....for £30. But it was Ok as it was a Sunday and there seemed little else on offer in the town. An hour later nothing had appeared and despite numerous complaints to the bar staff who promised to get back to me nothing ever happened. The best was the guy behind the bar who promised to sort things out and then went on to serve other customers hoping I'd go away. When the food finally arrived it was cold, poor and tiny. The said man behind the bar popped out to ask if everything was OK and we told him (politely ) that it wasn't. He said he'd see it things and then...disappeared and never came back!

And to make it even better, I emailed the pub later that evening to complain and had a really rapid from a 'Luke' claiming to be the the manager. He said he'd look into things and get back to me the following day...Guess what...its 4 days later and I haven't heard a thing. A shocking place that is as clueless as it's poor.

After changing their name to 'The Folly', this literally have them an excuse to put all their prices up. £3.55 it cost for a single gin & lemonade....when they call it a dash of lemonade they meant it. It was served in a tiny glass with so much ice their wasn't barely room for lemonade. I wouldn't of minded paying this much if the drink tasted nice.
The staff mostly are pretty nice & have ok customer service is good but the service doesn't make up for the stupid prices.
The toilets hallway absolutely stinks of pee, it is a crazy overwhelming smell almost makes you wretch & the tables are super sticky too. The decor is nice but they have a big tv at the end of the bar with a lamp slap bang in the middle of it! Gets right in the way of the picture making it basically impossible to watch

In contrast to the previous posts, i find it hard to see the downsides to this pub, as a regular visitor to Boston (i'm Irish) i have always found not only the staff to be attentive and courteous, but also very pleasant and engaging in banter, something i see the other local pubs lack in, hence I've made it my local when visiting, the pub has seen a lot off improvements made to it in my times visiting which is a credit to the current staff and management, perhaps if the previous posters took the time to actually experience what this pub has to offer rather than post the one visit one post attitude then its ratings and there experience here would improve, as it is a great pub and its staff and patrons are a credit to Boston.. looking forward to when i next visit..

Weird set up...staff cant find items on till so they order you something different and thinks thats ok....i ordered the steak sandwich with onions...i just got 2 slices of thin brown bread...probably a cheap value brand..the steak was ok.but no onions...no garnish and appeared to be cut with a blunt knife...i could have made that myself...i did mention to bar staff and she was sorry...just a tip..if your trying to build a better reputation than before by changing name..at least put some effort into the food and try to promote rather than a boozy pub.
