Not knowing Market Harborough, I was not familiar with the Three Swans but it was a convenient venue to meet a friend.
My friend, fortunately, was aware that the front entrance to the building was not in use, although there was no indication of this, and we made our way round the side of the building.
We entered through the first door we found and encountered a member of staff who told us, in no uncertain terms, that we must go back outside and find another door further along the passageway. Again, there was no indication that that particular door was "exit only" to facilitate the (understandable) one-way system for customers.
Despite the pleasant setting, the comfortable seating arrangements and a reasonably comprehensive menu, we were somewhat perturbed when our food was served by a young waitress who was not wearing a face mask, unlike the other member of staff in the restaurant.
I am, of course, aware that there are certain conditions that allow for exemptions to mask wearing but, given the close proximity between waiting staff and diners, I would have expected that anyone unable to take proper preventative measures against infection would be employed in tasks where a safe distance could be maintained.
These negativities would be so easy to remedy - proper signage for entrances and exits, and ensuring that customers do not have to be within two metres of staff who do not wear face masks.
