Description: Stein's Fish & Chips boasts both a restaurant and takeaway, located in Padstow on the beautiful North Cornwall coast overlooking the Camel Estuary. You'll find a menu of cod and haddock together with a large range of local fish like hake, monkfish, John Dory and bass which is often landed right here on our doorstep in Padstow. Our fish is coated in our homemade batter (gluten free options available) and deep-fried in beef dripping to make it really crisp and we serve our own mushy peas and curry sauce as well as our homemade mayonnaise-based tartare sauce.

Called in at the beginning of August one lunchtime. Queued for no more than 15 minutes to sit down in the restaurant area. Haddock and chips was superb, the fish beautifully cooked, as were the chips. Scraps and mushy peas finished the meal perfectly, as did the Korev lager. £45 for 2 adults and 2 children. Great food, great value and great service

Wasn’t the best fish & chips we’ve ever had but also not the worst however very filling. Get there early as the queues build up very quickly.

The fish and chips were tasty and well cooked but were nothing more than average. The very long wait and the price was not justified.

My son fancied fish and chips whilst in Padstow so what better place than Steins. Not the cheapest but still only £1 more than the cafe further round the harbour. My son said they were delicious and worth the wait.
£9.45 for cod and chips. Not cheap but when in Padstow.........

We were really looking forward to quality fish and chips. Unfortunately we were disappointed the children's meal of sausage and chips was undercooked and had to be sent back not arriving until all the adults had finished making for a very stressful meal. Our fish and chips were ok but nothing to shout home about in fact my local chippy is an awful lot nicer
