After finding out where we could actually park we checked in, to be told no information from the reception staff just that our room was on the first floor. The room was tiny only just big enough for the double bed although I think we had the worse room in the entire hotel overlooking the fans from the kitchen and the car park which are noisy at all hours. The paint was cracking off the bath in the bathroom and I completely agree with the other reviews the place is just really dull and needs a complete make over especially for the prices they charge. Breakfast we paid for in the room price and it was only offered as cold food if you wanted anything hot it was extra again, oh and the butters had to be replaced on the table because the seagulls had been in so the staff say, I wonder what else they've been over. It's a brilliant location for padstow but at a £170 a night and I heard people have paid more it's no where near worth the money.

The hotel is tired and in urgent need of refurbishment. The carpets are dirty, sofas stained and the place needs a good clean. Breakfast was disorganised, dirty table cloths, fruit juice not replenished and plates and bowls not readily available. The lift was out of order and we were staying on the 3rd floor with my eighty year old mum. We weren't offered any alternative room for her. The staff were pleasant but seemed to lack any leadership or training. Front of house were disinterested. Dirty plates and glasses were left outside by the pool and sun lounger cushions stained. Its over priced and I'm amazed there are any positive reviews about the place. I will not be staying again. On the plus side the location is great and the shower was good!

The lack of investment and maintenance is obvious. Our room, with a sea view, was in a good position, but neither the bath or wash basin drained efficiently. We did report this, but no action was taken. It would only take a bit of TLC to improve the overall impression.

The Reception staff are great and it is such a shame that a listed building is being denied the attention it needs, although we are aware of the current financial position of Richardson Hotels. The lift was out of order, which didn't matter to us, but it was an obvious inconvenience for some of the guests.

Stopped for a coffee, and got it served impeccably on the veranda with the bay view at a price that was probably better of what we would have gotten in the town for some muck in a plastic cup. We had already had some food in town, but it's worth considering for a stop for a meal as well as its' prices are in line with the town hovels.

We checked in today, arriving from Canada. We are shocked by the disrepair and filth of every aspect of this facility. Cannot call it a hotel. We strongly recommend you do not set yourself up for disappointment and book at this hotel. Old world charm complete with authentic filth, no upkeep , terrible disrepair. Lift doesn’t not work. View of harbour overshadowed by chipped dirty windows, flies, and every overwhelmingly terrible details. The very pleasant staff cannot make up for what is a truly dreadful facility. Do not stay here! Our opinion
