The hotel is situated between Rock and Polzeath (both served by a complimentary Land Rover service) and only around 200 metres from the North Cornwall coast.
The elevated position of the hotel allows for spectacular views across the sea and coastline.
The coastal walks to Polzeath (and the wonderful beach) and Rock are fantastic, and there is a ferry (£8 return) from Rock to Padstow.
The cosy room was well appointed, with a very comfortable bed, mini bar (with free bottled water and milk), tea and coffee (with biscuits), sky movies and sports on the wall mounted TV, dressing gowns and sandals for the spa, and a fantastic shower room.
The indoor pool is nice, with a sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. The outdoor poor is heated and is a rare find in the UK, providing views of the sea.
Breakfast was a hot and cold buffet, with high quality food. One of the best hotel breakfasts I have had, and included in the price.
The bar and restaurant looked nice too.
The staff were all very friendly and informative. We really did feel very welcome, which is unfortunately not a given at all hotels!
This is our new favourite Cornish hotel, and we will definitely be back.More
