Spent one night here before driving on to Holsworthy the next day. Arrived 21:45 and had checked in beforehand. Just tapped our car number plate in and keys were handed over. Very welcoming and the receptionist was very polite and helpful. Room spotless and the new design bath/shower was much improved. Good nights’ sleep had by both of us. Really liked the new-style self-service breakfast. Again, this was pre-booked. If you chose the ‘full English’ breakfast, your choice is endless and you can also enjoy an excellent range of fresh fruit, juices, cereals, toast, Croissants and a good selection of different teas – enough to keep you going all day. We experienced no problems at all and our stay was excellent. All the staff were friendly, smiley and helpful. Will definitely choose this Premier Inn again when visiting Devon.

Room tip: Book everything in advance - saves time and hassle!

This was a 1 night stay on a stopover before continuing down to St Ives.
This is a newly opened, purpose built hotel in a very convenient location. Good sized car park to the front and side of the building.
The rooms are of a new design from other Premier Inns I have stayed in, there were no baths only showers - but what a shower! Easily one of the best showers in any hotel I have stayed in. The room was a comfortable temperature and had air con. It was spotlessly clean, the usual comfy bed. There seemed to be less storage space than in the older design rooms, not an issue for me but some may be disappointed. Overnight the room was very quiet and no noise from outside or the corridor was heard.
The restaurant is quite small with only a few tables set aside for non diners. On the night we stayed there were only 2 staff working, they were covering table service, drinks service and reception duties, this meant they were rushing around trying to be many things to many people. This led to some people around us moaning about service speed, the 2 staff were trying their best but needed assistance.
The following morning at breakfast was a similar story, only 2 staff seating guests, clearing tables and covering reception again. Breakfast was busy and people were having to wait for tables. We just beat the rush and found everything we wanted cooked and ready, others were not so lucky.
With a few more staff and someone taking charge and leading the staff I’m sure this would not have been an issue.
Overall great room, spotlessly clean with an excellent shower. However maybe front of house staffing levels need looking at.

The negative reviews on here are very unfair to the staff who work tirelessly and are very short handed. We stayed here for six days and despite the shortages of food and drinks we had a very enjoyable stay because of the staff working here. It's not their fault the place has no bar or bar area to speak of - no idea what head office was thinking tbh - neither is there enough seating for dinner or breakfast if everyone comes down at once, heaven knows the carnage there must have been in the summer, but despite all this everyone remained calm, friendly and hospitable. We have never met such a committed and genuinely caring staff and because there was so few of them, two on at each shift is really not enough, they were all working their socks off, we felt we got to know them all. Even the chefs had a cheery greeting as they slaved away, nothing was too much trouble - my husband had a poached egg every day and our steaks whether they were cooked blue and bloody like my husband likes them or well done for me, they were juicy and delicious. I do feel head office urgently needs to help out this hotel, it's newly opened and it almost seems like they have been forgotten about - they need more committed staff but despite this we had a fantastic time and would stay again. The manager Del was always so friendly and helpful and approachable and he is leading a great team despite the obstacles. We wish them all the very best and hope to see them again. Maeve & Steve XX

Checked in via machine and was issued with 2 keys unlike other Premier Inns. Room was new and clean. Comfortable bed. The elephant in the room above spoiled our stay,
stomping around for hours. We had dinner which was nice but lots of items from the bar were unavailable. Receptionist now cooking our dinner and 2 other staff managing the restaurant, bar and reception. Breakfast was trickier. Quiet but hot food was barely warm, juice was warm and no brown bread available. Not blaming that but I was sick for 8 hours later that day.

Room tip: All identical but ask for top floor to avoid noise from above.

I was in the M5 queue yesterday for over 5 hours after the very sad incidents where M5 was closed and was too tired to drive another 2 hours after I left the queue at Bridgwater. Tried several numbers to let Wadebridge Hotel know I couldn't get there but message said it was too busy and try again later, then it was 8pm and after 8pm no way of getting through. Had to drive to the closest P Inn- Bridgwater- they couldn't find a direct number either.
