If you like fish, like amazing service and can get a table the Osteria is well worth a visit. Impeccable white table clothes, extensive wine list and brilliant sea food options always cooked exquisitely. I had their classic “Trio of fish” with new potatoes last time...Thinking back I’m salivating!

We were on a golfing trip, drove into town late afternoon, asked a lady in the street where to go for dinner, and without hesitation she said: Osteria.
I looked it up on Tripadvisor: she was right! Over drinks in a local; pub I made a reservation and we walked there.
The Ostaria does not stand out like most pizzeria style Italian restaurants do: you can easily walk past it. Clearly a place for people in the know.
We were welcomed in a kind professional way by excellent staff.
It was an very enjoyable experience: the best mushroom pasta ever, delicious lamb chops, and a lovely Valpolicella Ripasso to go with it.
Will definitely visit again on the next trip to Scotland!

Osteria do not need another glowing review, but that is what this is. The food, the service & the wine list are spot on. Osteria is in the Italian tradition of family run restaurants where each has a role to play in a shared enterprise.

Dishes are simple, well prepared & well presented. Flavours are fresh, not excessively herbed and obviously from good ingredients.

The Gorgonzola soufflé was beautifully finished and delicately flavoured. Even a little rocket side salad showed care. Diners can do the full Italian course pattern or opt for just starter & mains as we did.

Service is pitched at the correct level of attention without intrusion. The Italian focused wine list offers good examples of the usual suspects, plus less familiar varieties prompting new experiences, drawing on proprietor Angelo’s knowledge.

The combination of good reputation, gentle pace and about 30 covers means that booking is essential every night of the week.

A group of eight went here for dinner whilst on a trip to North Berwick. Everyone thought the food absolutely delicious, the atmosphere great and the staff helpful and charming. Excellent. You will not regret a visit to this restaurant.
