My husband and I were at the Ship on Saturday. We had a lovely meal, we both had the BBQ burger. It was nearly perfect, but what they're calling BBQ sauce was only a flavoured ketchup.

One big niggle I have with this place is the hygiene of three servers I observed. We sat by the window so watched on two separate occasions two servers went out for a smoke and came straight back on to the floor without washing their hands. I saw the door they came back into the pub and no time passed before they were picking up glasses and serving food again. There was another server, who was wearing a very loose tank top and her black bra was on show through the armholes. I find this very unhygienic and would not go back to this establishment for that purpose. It is a wee shame, too, as the food we had was really tasty.

We came across the Ship after getting lost during a caravanning holiday. It is set on one of the most beautiful towns we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The staff here are charming and friendly. It's obviously a favourite with the locals many of whom who came in with their dogs and were treated to a treat from the bar staff. We loved seeing the warm welcome given to these furry patrons.
We returned later in the day to sample the food on offer after being left with mouths watering on our previous visit.
The food was absolutely exquisite, great sized portions at very reasonable prices.

Extremely highly recommended.

We saw the place with some tables outside in a sunny day, but we went for an inside lunch. We had 2 hamburgers (gluten free bun available) and cokes. The staff was so friendly, the place was not too noisy even if it was busy at that time, and we had our food ready on the table within short time.
The food was great, and even the chips were soo good. The nice part we loved here, was the way they deal with dogs, this is a dog friendly place and you are welcome to take your dog with you inside.

I visited tonight as part of a group of 8, 4 adults, 4 children and 3 dogs on a family holiday.

All main courses were excellent. We had a problem with desserts however the staff were very professional in dealing with this.

Will def visit again on our return to the area.

Popped in for a drink pre dinner with friends. Loch. fine, Jarl real IPA first class, and soft drinks reasonably priced. Very busy at 4:30 on a Saturday which is a good sign. Staff friendly and we were served quickly. Although we didn't eat, the food looked appetising.
