“Rani Tandoori”
Reviewed 31 December 2011

In our opinion, the best indian restaurant on the island, hands down. We go there every year, two or three times during our stay and their food never lets us down.

They serve wonderful lamb dishes, I particularily love the korma, my husband likes to experiment with their spicier dishes. They have several set menus which are great value, which include dishes like hot chicken tikka and bombay potatoes. The service is friendly and attentive and they seem to attract customers of South Asian background which is always a good sign.

Rani Tandoori might be a bit tricky to find but they have PR's on the promenade near Gran Tinerfe/Casino and on the other side in Pueblo Canario, halfway up the hill.

Nice views are a plus too, you can see La Gomera on a bright night in the horizon and hear the waves lapping on the shore.

All in all: really good value, wonderful food, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere, we will definately come back next year :)

“If you like Indian food, try it”
Reviewed 30 June 2011

Been trying to get the wife to try this place over the past few years. It's just above the bar we usually have a couple of drinks in every day(Old Freinds Bar,Estrella beer 1.50 all day). We've had some terrible curries in the past in Tenerife. After plying here with a couple of wines one evening, she finally succumbed. Fist thing she said after the meal was,'thank god I did'. We were both pleasantly surprised. I had one of their specials and my wife had chicken and spinach balti. The lamb in my meal was like butter. Brilliant. Nans' light as a feather. Nice choice of red wines, which were great value. Open kitchen at the back of the restaurant and nice veiws at the front overlooking the sea out to La Gomera. Well worth a try. If you walk down the side of the Bourganville Hotel, it is in CC.Pueblo Canarios. There's usually a guy at the top of the steps trying to coax you in. Thankless job. Give him a fright and say yes, and you'll go back after the meal to thank him.

“Best Indian in Tenerife”
Reviewed 1 September 2010

Rani Tandoori is situated in Playa de Las Americas. The view when eating is of the sun setting down behind La Gomero. Michael (the owner and chef) will cook you anything you ask from mild to extra hot. We usually go there at least three times in a week. The chicken tikka starter is very tasty and moist, the garlic nan is so light and tasty we sometimes have them as take away. Every curry i have tasted has been very tasty and the sizziling dishes come out filling the restaurant with a lovely aroma. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and will advise you on any of their dishes.
