I needed kitchen facility to stay with my two children so I decided to stay at Cortijo.
Our room was spacious enough for three of us. Our room had another door to access to the pool area which was convenient.
One review said that this place has the best bed? I guess some rooms have better mattress than other rooms.
Besides mattress, pillows and towels could be better.
I understand that this hotel was old Andalucian style ranch but walls have no sound proof at all.
The location is almost the end of Tarifa so if you need to get to Tarifa town, get ready for l heavy traffic.
If you are not so picky with these details, this hotel is comfortable place to stay with kids.

Buenas noches,
Saludos,
Hotel Cortijo Las Piñas

The building near the pool is much better than the building housing the reception. The receptionist was kind enough to help us switch our room from the latter building to the former.

The building in the back is quite damp, and cold, even in May. I'm usually not very sensitive, but having spent a day in the damper building, I developed a passing cough, which went away as soon as we moved to the front building. Some mold could also be spotted in the bathroom.

The front building has bigger and nicer rooms, with a more pleasant patio. It's also closer to the pool, with a very nice and relaxing area.
The rustic decoration is in line with the cortijo buildings.

Wi-fi works only in the area in front of the reception.

If in the area, we'd very possibly choose to stay here, again.

Room Tip: Front building is a better option.

Very difficult to find, even with a GPS because it is so far out of town "in the countryside" as the taxi driver who helped us called it. The grounds are lovely. The room was unusual--a non working fireplace, a kitchenette with microwave and a hot plate. I was immediately put off by the extra large can of bug spray on the mantle! Spacious room but it looked like it had been furnished from a garage sale. The bed was OK but a little hard. The heater worked well. It was a little too rustic for my taste but we had absolutely no problems. We didn't interact much with the hotel staff but they were friendly.

Great location, about 11km from central Tarifa, handy for Valdevequeros and Punta Paloma. I thought the facilities were fine; in the room and for the hotel in general, although yes the internet connection wasn't the heftiest that's not a huge issue for me when I'm on holiday.
The owner wasn't exactly the most charming person ever, maybe because his English is non existent + he didn't seem to understand my attempts at Spanish.
Special mention for Noelia though who worked on reception and in the cafe; just the warmest, friendliest, most welcoming lady ever and she really made me feel at home . She spoke excellent English, was interested in all the guests and she took the time to talk to everyone. She's a diamond!
If you want all mod cons this isn't the place for you, but if you want a pleasant, fairly traditional place then it probably is. It's dog friendly however and there was a lot of yapping and howling at night sometimes.

I made a complete hash of my booking! I booked for October instead of August (the busiest month in Spain!).
Noelia on reception couldn't have been more helpful. She checked and double checked her system only to find that I had made the stupid mistake (my words, not hers).
With very swift efficiency and the biggest smile she immediately dealt with the problem and despite the hotel being nigh on full found us a lovely little room.
The hotel is simple but well run, spotlessly clean and is superbly located for the fabulous beaches of the Costa de la Luz. It is an ideal getaway for adults who just want to relax although children are welcome.
There is a super restaurant a 5 minute walk away, El Olivo, that does the most amazing local beef.
Definitely going back very soon :)
