We stayed in this Hotel recently, we checked in on Tue.10/12/19. We were greeted by a most pleasant young lady. We asked to view the room, she escorted us there. We were well pleased with the room, it was clean, modern and we enjoyed our sleep there. We enjoyed our breakfast the next morning. We were very impressed with the pleasant staff we encountered.

Room tip: Our room was on Floor 3 very good

After reviewing my 1st allocated room I returned to reception and enquired about a room change as didn't fancy a balcony view over looking a building site for my short stay as it was not the hotel experience I was looking for. As all sea view rooms were occupied I opted for a pool view at my own expense and I could still just see the sea too so bonus.
The rooms I have to say are beautiful, mine was large, spacious, modern and tastefully decorated to a good standard and as previously mentioned in other reviews they do have see through showers which as a solo traveller was not an issue. Within the room was a safe and mini fridge with complimentary soft drinks. The balcony was also twice the size as the previous room.
Cannot fault the breakfast, accessible until 11am there was an extensive choice of hot and cold foods.
The roof terrace is disappointingly only open on weekends. The pool bar though does delicious cocktails sadly there is no Happy Hour at that bar.
The hotel is perfectly situated with easy access to the beach just a 5min walk and 20mins into Tarifa Town which is well worth visiting. The Lances is beautiful hotel in a ideal and practical location for exploring Tarfia.

We spend 5 nights a the hotel and really liked it very much. We had a nice spaceous room with pool view. The glass "wall" between room and shower was not a problem, because there was a curtain to draw. The breakfast offered something for everybodies taste. The receptionists were helpful, they arranged us the day trip to Morocco which was great. The days we were there was very windy, but that is part of Tarifa and we did not mind. For going into town you could either take the walkway close to the beach or walk along the road, both was fine. We enjoyed every bit of our time in Tarifa

Loved the facilities and location. Front desk is friendly and greets you with bubbly as a check in welcome. As always, its in the details where a hotel differs from an average hotel and where slack gets less points in my review.

First impressions. Street parking is free. It isn't the hotel garage that's free. Here's where the false advertising will affect you. There are multiple buildings popping up around the hotel. Once those are finalized it will be considerably more challenging to find a parking space on the street.

Hot room. First room had poorly functioning A/C. A day and several complaints later, we were finally moved to a cooler room. That first room had dirt and hairballs all over the room's floor, including the shower. The toilet smelled like a public restroom at New York's Grand central station.

Its worth signing up for the breakfast (very inexpensive). However the staff in the breakfast room are only there for decoration. Dozens of tables with dirty plates from guests long departed. Empty sections of the buffet area not replenished. Expired salami placed as an option (you can really taste it when processed salami has gone bad, and that takes quite a bit..) Hard to find salt and pepper and if you do they are in dirty containers. Its not a lack of staff but the total disinterest in actually working or customer service that stands out. There may be one exception (guy working behind bar) Staff in restaurant area are frequently hiding out of sight or busy gossiping or yelling at you when you grab a bottle of water from the publicly displayed cooler rather than the warm bottles on the counter top at the other end of the room. If it isn't meant for use put a SIGN on it!

Good hotel Wifi. Nice spa area although attendant is nowhere to be found, until you ask for one at the front desk. Nice pool, nice rooftop but again, with terrible service.

Another thing that struck me as odd was the 4 stars classification. This is a nice hotel but in NO WAY a 4 star hotel. Id say 3 stars, like my review. This hotel is in no way deluxe, even in the best rooms (our room) There are no amenities that get it anywhere close to 4 stars. The view is not as described. You are about a kilometer from the beach with multiple buildings in front of you. Although the best rooms face in the direction of the ocean, you can only glance at a tiny piece of it in the very far distance. It was a selling point and advertised with the room. I know plenty of hotels describe ocean view, even if you have to jump over the balcony, bend around a corner to see it, but don't be fooled with this up-sale. You have a view of the pool and buildings.

LOUD garbage pick ups at 4am. In the late summer its really nice to sleep with the sliding door open (also the only way to stand it in a HOT room,) but be aware if you do this, you will be woken up around 4 am 2 to 3 times per week with extremely loud city garbage pick up, which is on the street right in front of the pool. It lasts about 1/2 hour with lots of repeat, loud noises. The hotel as a large business in town should have some pull to change this to later in the day pick ups, but the front desk wasn't very interested and it didn't expedite switching our rooms to a less HOT one!

Overall it has great potential. Not a huge obstacle to fix these details and have a manager actually MANAGE employees and cleaning crew to do a better job. There aren't many "4 star" options in town or vicinity, and although this property in no way qualifies as 4 star it is still the better option in town.

Stayed here for 3 nights for a quick break away as we live in Malaga. For a four star hotel it was quite average! The rooms have a beach vibe and the beds are very hard! Main pool area and tables outside by restaurants were always in need of a good clean and whilst staff were friendly service was very slow.. The location was a good 25 minutes walk into old town and the main promenade is very run down ! If we go back to Tarifa we will stay in the old town itself.. What we did love about the Hotel was the roof top pool and cocktails! You can see the most amazing Sunsets from this area !
