We upgraded our room for only £20 per night so reasonable value. Arrived at our sea view room with fruit and wine on the floor outside the door. We took this in assuming it was for us and yes the view is amazing but it ends there.

Room unclean as per photos.

Free trips included but you have to go to an orthopaedic bed buying event first, how odd.

Food was included and quiet a choice if you have no teeth this is perfect. Service not brilliant.

Left next morning on a flight we had to buy as no more rooms from Thompson. Do not let them put you in this hotel.

Swimming pool packed with the OAP's and the whirlpool dirty and damaged

Dirty rooms

Dangerous sockets

Room Tip: Different Hotel a must

the yaramar is very central for all ameneties and trains and buses are plentiful very cheap. we came here 10 yrs ago it has not changed much we found the food has not changed a very good a wide selection the entertainment is fair but they have happy hour from 8 /9 30pm my only fault we found is it does need updating especially the rooms having said that a very friendly hotel and could not fault the staff and the Thomson reps and entertainments team.

Room Tip: all rooms get the sun either a pool view or sea view

Some good things and a few not so good

This is basically a good hotel in a lovely location with many good things to recommend it. However, a few things about it are not quite so good so I will deal with those first:

It needs more lifts. There is a reason that there are seats and a book library by the lifts on each floor.
The fridge should be free (it is €10 per week). The safe is free incidentally.
There is no iron in the room (but there is a hairdryer)
The room, although quite spacious and kept very clean, is a little tired now.
This is the big one: The toilets in the attached Rivera Beach Bar are disgusting and the ladies was out of action for most of our stay.

Now for the good:

The staff were invariably helpful, friendly and efficient and in some cases a lot of fun.
The room was reasonably spacious and had a lovely balcony with a view over the beach and out to sea.
The food was generally excellent with a good choice (although the restaurant could get busy)
Keep an eye on the various happy hours, 2 drinks for the price of 1 - nice.
There were lots of Thompson reps available at the hotel and they were friendly and helpful.
This is the big one: The shows at 10:00 in the evenings were of a far higher standard than you would normally get in a hotel with the ones put on by the reps absolutely top class (and I am fussy where entertainment is concerned)

Now just a few general comments:

If you go over to Gibraltar take sterling, their Euro exchange rate is usurious. We saw lots of dolphins and some monkeys (much to my wife's delight)

The village Mijas in the hills above we found to be overrated and is best got to by taxi (€15 from the hotel)

Generally we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Yaramar and if we were to come back to Fuengirola again we would have no hesitation in choosing it again.

We had a superb week in September, hotel welcoming, lovely courteous staff everywhere. Spacious room with large balcony on 12th floor with beautiful view of sea and marina. Food excellent constantly refilling and good variety. Pool was very clean with easy access could always find a lounger and brolly, hope to return soon.

Room Tip: Best views from higher floors, quieter, sea view rooms have sun afternoon and evening

We went here in July for ten nights and brilliant time again. Unfortunately Easyjet cancelled our flight but we managed to fly same day different airport and different airline. We arrived much later than we should have done and reception was exceptional they knew problems we had and provided plates of food and drink in our room which we so appreciated. Room on 14 th floor which requested and got could always get sun bed food brilliant and staff brilliant. Why would we go anywhere else so just booked again for next year see you in July 2018. Thank you Yaramar for great holiday

Thank you for your amazing review and for choosing Hotel Yaramar as your holiday accommodation.
We are extremely grateful for your lovely comments and for how highly you rated us.
Making your arrival easy for you was the least we could do for you after the issues you had with your flights to Malaga.
We will be very happy to welcome you back to Hotel Yaramar next summer.
Have a nice winter season and see you very soon!
