On the 14th June we went to the Yaramar, first time there and on the Costa del Sol,
I found this Hotel excellent, food was very good at all meals. Entertainment was good.
We did however notice that over the road on the sunbeds towels were put out by hotel guest
(British) for hours prior to their using the sunbeds. Hotel Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Room Tip: all rooms face the sea and have a balcony, I found I had good nights sleep on all nights.

Had another fabulous holiday at this great hotel. The staff have worked there for a long time so it says something about the management. The entertainment team , Millie,Elle, Dan and Craig are excellent. We happened to be there for the football final and joined in with the staff with our men wearing Spanish football shirts and caps. This is the tenth year we have been to the Yaramar as we are always made to feel welcome.
The only flaw is that men are allowed into dining room for evening meal wearing shorts. Some of the Spanish young men even wore beach shorts and when the Maitre D' was question he said they were below the knee!
Looking at someone else's review I notice that he complained about the food. He must have been in a different hotel to me!! I am a vegetarian and yes on one day there was not a main vegetarian dish so I just had a cheese salad. There was always dietetic (not just diabetic) food available. I was able to have gluten free bread every day, how many other hotels provide this?
Will certainly be going back again next year.

Room Tip: If you are not happy with your room always ask to be moved and reception will help.

We returned from the Yaramar on Sunday 1st July 2012. We absolutely loved the hotel, it was clean and tidy throughout although the bedrooms and air conditioning needs improving. The food was brilliant with a variety of choice. All the staff in the hotel were very friendly together with the holidaymakers that were there at the same time as us. We have not been to a friendlier hotel as this - we can't wait to go back. The poolside is relaxing with lots of talking, laughter and of course some sleeping, everybody seems to get on with everybody else. The beach is only across the road with a very nice snackbar, the beach is clean and you get served with a glass of sangria when you have settled onto your sunbed - ace!! The hotel is largely for the older person, the age group when we were there was 40-80 which suited us. It is easy to get around on Los Boliches, it is flat and the train station and bus station is only 2 short streets away. The train and/or bus will take you from Malaga to Marbella - every 20 minutes, bang on time!!! Now that's a first for us. The entertainment team of Millie, Elle, Craig and Dan were absolutely fabulous. They are all very talented and gelled well together. They put on 3-4 shows during the week showcasing their talents through musical theatre, well known shows and choreography - we could not fault them, we enjoyed every show that they put on. Happy hour was brilliant value for money. Our room was on the corner of the hotel, overlooking the beach, pool and road but we did not hear any road noise as other reviews have stated. We found the Yaramar very relaxing, quiet and friendly - here's to our next visit - can't wait

Room Tip: Corner suites are very hot due to the one side of the room being glass from top to bottom.

Our holiday was ruined by the very poorly catered dining room. I can't believe when hotels all over Europe, are desperate for clients, that this catering experience out of the lowest trough of the 60's still is allowed to continue. Shoot the head chef, re-train the kitchen staff, and produce food that is edible and enjoyable. Everything from vegetables and vegetarian food, to diabetic (table labelled but no contents?), to normal meat fare, was plain as a cardboard box.
The hotel and staff, including the hard-working table clearers, (dining room is self-service), are generally very good. From entertainment staff, to cleaners and bar staff are much more friendly than the usual Spanish hotel staff, and work very hard.
The range of facilities is very good, which attracts people from other hotels to abandon their abodes, and to come here for the evening.
Why oh why don't the management take notice and improve a holiday essential: the food. We can only imagine it's because it is largely block booked by Thomson elderly and infirm clients, who appear to have lost their sense of taste.

Love this hotel and Los Boliches end of Fuengirola. It was our fifth visit and though we were not disappointed it is needing some tlc now as it is faltering on a 3 star not a 4 star. The bed rooms are in real need of some updating now as they are becoming a bit tired only one plug socket for kettle hairdryer etc.The bathroom was ok but the hairdryer was not working. Cannot fault the staff, the food etc and we will be back again this year. Did not go by the pool but the queue in the morning for the sunbeds was ridiculous! Still think the fridge in bedroom should be free! but its not.
