Myself & my husband stayed here - 2 weeks in July 22
We arrived late and the room was dark & gloomy, aircon was terrible, and our room was far away from the lifts. We asked for an upgrade this cost additional €35.00 per day €455.00 which is expensive for what we got. We were surprised there was no tea/coffee making facilities.
Negatives
Pool opening times - opens at 11am guests stressed as Que starts at 10.30
Umbrella/Lounger availability - not enough loungers and umbrellas for a hotel with approx. 400 rooms.
Bar opening times – only open from 6 to 11.00
Late checkout - we were promised a late checkout but these are not available (numerous times on our last morning different employees using their pass key came into our room checking if we were still there! no apology offered)
Showering facilities on last day – showers are beside the pool, these are not private everyone entering the bathrooms can see you showering! We asked for towels we were offered bath mats for each of us, when I complained we were given a bath towel with strict instructions!
Most of the staff were pleasant, there was one or two on reception who were very rude!
There was an advert in reception that you could leave a review but when you clicked the QR code the page had been removed! This made us and other guests think this hotel does not want bad reviews!
This hotel could do with a revamp as the décor is very dated, paintwork peeling and carpets are on corridors. I would not be booking here again!

Having visited the area many times before, and staying in this hotel in February, we decided to rebook again for the summer.

We stayed for Friday through til Wednesday evening.

Having stayed in a nice room on the 8th floor in February, we were a bit worried when we were given a room on the second floor, but the room was just as good in quality and yet again there was no outrageous noise in the room like has been mentioned by other visitors on trip advisor.

Rooms - Similar to another reviewer, I cannot see the issues with a lack of plugs in the room. In both rooms we have stayed in, there were plugs at the side of each bed, behind the TV and in the bathroom - more than enough for two people. Rooms are kept clean and are made up daily if you leave the sign on the door with the towels changed regularly also. Potentially a light on the balcony in an evening would be a bonus/a drying rack for swimwear.

Food - Again, we stayed bed and breakfast and cannot see the complaints which have been voiced by some reviews. A good range of food with cereals, cold meats and cheeses, fruit and cooked options.

Pool - The pool opens at 11 which again could be earlier, but not the end of the world and it means everyone has a fair chance at sun lounges. Pool bar is priced high (€4 pints) but it’s the price you pay for convenience. There is also some good entertainment options around the pool with the competitions running throughout the day as well as aerobics and a kids club. Connor who ran this is fluent in Spanish and English and really is an asset to the hotel, getting everyone involved and feeling comfortable - but not forcing you to participate if it wasn’t for you.

Overall, from what I’ve read from some reviews is that people are unhappy there is some noise from the bars, a lack of English TV channels and the fact there’s a few frayed carpets. Just remember, hotels don’t have to cater their service around the English, so if you want a John smiths and watch Corrie on an evening, I’d look somewhere else.

For me this is a good hotel for a reasonable price in a very good location and would definitely visit again soon.

I have visited this hotel many times over the last 27 years and whilst it has always been a bit dates ,the atmosphere and location more than offset this however this year things have gone downhill. Firstly the pool ,which has been modified in a most amatuer fashion to meet disabled access requirements and didn't open until 11am. The bar prices have increased to the piint that we only used the Tren bar during happy hour when drinks due to 2 for one were compatible to surrounding bars. The staff were as usual pleasnt but I guess victims of a situation they played no part in.I never thought I would find myself saying this but we are seriously considering Turkey next year where we can go 4 star AI for what we paid this year for B&B. Such a shame to see this hotel being run into the ground.More
